Repsol Sport Centre's Reviews and comments
I was raised in Calgary and used to come to “Lindsay Park” all the time growing up. I recently came back to Calgary for the holidays and came to Repsol Centre. It’s been nearly twenty years since I’ve been here and it’s still a great place to go. Surely a great classic. Plenty of activities and tons to do. The whole family can spend hours here. The prices are reasonable and I’m as fond of it today as I was then. Make sure to stop by.
A great place to get active in Calgary, the Repsol Sport Centre is a great option but not the best. There's a wide range of activities to choose from, so you're sure to find something that suits your needs. My favorite thing about the Sport Centre is the pool. It's really big and there's a great selection of lanes, which makes it perfect for swimming laps. The staff are really friendly and always willing to help, and the facilities are always clean. I definitely recommend the Repsol Sport Centre if you're looking for a place to get active in Calgary. What I really like about this facility is the low cost and low income pass option as it makes access to health and fitness much more affordable. I had to reduce a star for cleanliness of the changerooms but this place could easily earn 4 stars.
+ Great facilities
+ Staff in person are nice
- They appear to have a policy of not answering the phone at any time of the day. Try for yourself and you will never get a response. Repeatedly not there when I need help so they get a poor review (this is not the first time either).
Update: Just my view, but responding to a feedback on the negative customer experience you offer with your upcoming promotional offer is tacky. I posted in mid Nov after ongoing experiences (weeks) of never getting a call back or someone answering the phone. You respond with Dec promo offer. The nice part of support is you can walk up to the desk as they are free half the time for immediate help, you just need to drive in.
Relatively new member, but so far am loving Repsol pools. Always enough lanes open and easy to grab one - usually more open when I arrive than the website lists, which is great. Clean and well maintained. Any staff I have encountered has been really helpful and friendly. Happy they are keeping us safe by implementing the 'Restrictions Exemption Program' and requiring proof of vaccine.
I went to Repsol to renew my first aid certification back in summer. It was very difficult to do so as I didn't take the initial course at Repsol and couldn't book it online. I tried emailing and phoning many times, but no one answered. I just kept calling and calling until I was finally able to reach someone and book the class. It seems like being unable to make contact is a real problem for Repsol any time of year after reading these reviews. Otherwise, the facilities look very nice and it is conveniently located if you live close to downtown.
I was relatively new to yoga when I started taking classes with Bhavna and a bit uncertain of my abilities. Her classes are amazing - she's so positive and encouraging, provides great variety so classes are always fun and interesting, and gives modifications to accommodate all skill levels. Highly recommend!
This place is great! The parking lot is large and accessible, and the facility has lots of options. The number of basketball courts is surprising and the equipment all seemed to be in good shape. When I went there was a bit of a queue at the check in, but the employees dealt with it effectively and got everyone in on time!
Great place can't wait till it reopens. This place will make you feel safe.
I've been a member for 10+ years. Over the past 18 months (and counting) the staff and management have risen to the occasion, offering as much access to the facility as possible in a very fluid environment.
These have been very challenging times and I've seen first-hand the staff respectfully dealing with unhappy users, most recently as the vaccine passport has rolled out in the province.
Keep up the great work - we'll get through this together!
Great facility with very modern equipment. Staff were helpful.
Love the facility! Amazing staff! Clean and maintained.
I have been a member here for a number of years now. The facility is 10/10, most of the staff are amazing. But ever since COVID came into play, the management has absolutely blown it. Delayed openings, trying to charge members as drop-ins, and now shorter hours. I love this place, but it almost feels like they are trying to get rid of their members. I used to love ending a long day with a workout. Now I can't even make it in time because they decided to cut their hours. Lets get that 11pm close time going again
Repsol is a great place for the family. There are so many activities you can do. The facilities are well maintained. Parking can get busy on weekends.
No where else in Calgary that I would rather be a member. Large facility with a little bit of everything. A variety of exercise classes, large resistance training area with cardio machines, weight machines, free-weights, olympic lifting platforms, pool, hot tub, track, gym space for basketball or racquet sports. Equipment is maintained, facility is kept clean and staff are friendly and helpful if needed. I anticipate a very long term membership for my family and I.
Good place for all kinds of sport ,location is great and parking is always easy . I like it .
Cristina McDonagh is the best massage therapist I have seen in Canada, in the last ten years. She is a deep tissue master, and has a great awareness of pressure needed and what pressure can be tolerated.
I would recommend her again and again. Thank you.
I train in the pool. Some might find it cold... but the hot tub stays pretty warm and there is also a cold therapy tub. Pretty good except for after a synchro meet and you have to dodge gelatin in the pool for a week. The can get pretty slick. There are sometimes admission deals that can cut down on the cost. The last hour is cheap if you're looking to save money. Be careful some weekends because parking can get full when there is a swim meet on.
I doubt I could work out any place else. So big and bright with an indoor track.
Son learned Fencing with opponents, he said actually quite tired with arm, hot in the mask, when scored beats on the side. Thanks to “Calgary All sports one day!”
I’ve been working out my ability to make a decision and shutting you down was what I had to do. It wasn’t easy but I make the difficult decisions Calgary needs. Once I make the vaccine accessible to everyone we can all gather in your Olympic size pool and sit closer than six feet in your sauna. I miss your cold pool, it made me feel alive. Gyms are first on my list to bring back to Calgary so we can all work off the covid 19 we gained during our time of uncertainty. Thank you for being patient, I promise this will be the best summe calabry has ever had.
The best centre ever. Such good equipment, ventilation, prices, cleanliness and the staff are very cool. I have gone for many years and loved it. I can't imagine going anywhere else. Worth every cent.
Been going to the Repsol Sport Centre since 2018. I love doing Yoga here and the group classes. Jill, Renee, Nicola, Leah, Mallory and Lori are just the best. I feel welcomed and I miss it so much right now being closed. They are working hard keeping us safe. I understand that it can be confusing but some members don't see that at all. To give this place a one star shows that they only care about themselves and not others. They had to space out the lockers and divide things because of the members like this. When asked to wear masks, they didn't. Wake up people, this just isn't about you and your simple easy lives, this is about keeping everyone safe! They have to make it this way and it changes due to anti-maskers carelessness. The Repsol Sport Centre has been doing a great job with what they are faced with. Thank you for caring when others don't. Picked these up with my member points the day before the 2nd wave lockdown. See you guys back on the opening day!!
This has been my go to gym for the past 6 years. I drive half an hour to get here and it’s worth it! The best sport facility in Calgary. The pools with the hot tub and steam room are the best part after a game of basketball or badminton or just a workout.
Love it. Your encouraged to work out; not be judged.
Best publicly accessible gym in Calgary. A wide array of equipment, friendly stuff, and nice changing rooms. They have done an awesome job adapting through Covid
Definitely love this place great atmosphere and positive vibes! People are very friendly! Its very spacious and there is a lot of activities to do there! You can workout! Go play some badminton and then maybe go shoot some hoops! And if that’s not enough go for a swim and go take a dip in the hot tub and also loosen your joints while you cool in the cold tub! Big Thanks to Elmi for helping me out and getting me my membership! Anyone new that is looking for a gym to go to in Calgary definitely choose Repsol centre!!!
Love the facility, it’s big and there is all sorts of machines and equipment. Staff is nice and welcoming.
Reasonably priced gym that offers a ton of classes, has sports like basketball, volleyball, and badminton, and also has Olympic size swimming pools. They, of course, have many different exercise machines and free weights. The facility always feels clean and well maintained. This gym seems to attract all walks of life from those just starting out to hardcore athletes. Personal training is also offered, both one on one and group, for an additional fee (which is considerable). I would definitely recommend using this gym.
Great place for athletic conditioning. It was better when it was Talisman Centre because they enacted more stupid rules and raised prices. Therefore, I can no longer rate 5 stars.
Emma's customer service was excellent yesterday! She helped me out with an issue yesterday and saved me the hassle of having to contact a manager. Thanks! Very much appreciated. Wonderful facility with and endless array of exercise and activity options.
The new pool is so peaceful! The old pool is also great for training. I really enjoy watching the competitions that happen here in the pools.
Great facility!
Awesome facility. Doing their best during tough times!
Excellent facility with plenty of healthy activities for all
Great facility.
But feel like member come second to sport clubs.
Never any room to swim after 4pm cause swimming team take every lane And leave 1 lane open to public.
Never parking on weekends due to swimming competition.
Wonderful place to workout with great equipment and awesome pools. Friendly and helpful staff and the group classes are fun. Spin and box is the best!! Place is clean and always have fun promotions. I enjoy going there and the point system for swag makes it even more motivational. Happy to be a member. Good family pricing.
I absolutely love this place. It gives me that sense of community. Lots of regulars... Perfect for workout... Classes...meet so many amazing people of diverse background and knowledge.
Plenty of great facilities and very fair times they are open to the public. Even when the gym is busy you won't have trouble getting in a desired machine in a timely manner. I have not tried any of the classes but there are a lot to try!
Gym has tons of equipment, great place to work out. The classes are also really good. They have a hot tub, cold tub and steam room for after the gym as well. Staff are polite and helpful
amazing facility and pool, lots of room and VERY CLEAN! I have been swimming here for over five years, and the staff are all very skilled at their jobs, and very personable people. I always enjoy coming in and will recommend Repsol Sport Centre to all my friends and family.
Repsol seems to be a pretty good facility on their pool side with nice hot tubs, pools, etc. However I personally was very interested in the diving boards particularly the 7.5m and 10m. On their website it says no one can use them under the age of 16 which is fair until you get their and they tell you cannot use them what so ever. Their website does need to be updated and they also didn't allow me to dive off of the 5m. They said for reliability purposes after i purchased my drop in. Personally I have always wanted to jump fof the 10m and would love if you guys implemented a waiver so I cannot sue or anything, that would be wonderful. Other then some flaws on their website its a pretty good place.
I visited repsol the first time 25 years ago, since it was Lindsey Park, always great service and amazing facilities. Stopped going there since the COVID-19, but hopefully I will go back again soon.
Best place to workout in Calgary. Tonnes of classes to choose from. Amazing instructors. Clean facility. Great pricing. Warm and welcoming environment.
I fell in-love with This facility in 2003 due to the excellent childcare. I was previously not a gym person but soon began spending more time at the gym and then began enjoying the fitness and yoga classes too! All the instructors I have experienced have been amazing - they know their stuff and have a great passion and love for what they do. The front desk staff are kind and helpful! :-) It is a large facility and busy at times. It is a good idea to check the website to keep up with news regarding events and busy times. They are open early to late so there are lots of off-peak times available if a busy facility is not your thing. They offer free parking nearby if the lot is busy. Free parking near downtown is a rare thing! One can not beat the value of a membership here with the fitness, spin and yoga classes, pool, hot tub, gym etc.. It is an amazing value compared to other gyms and yoga studios in Calgary. Also on-sight there is a Jugo Juice and Good Earth Cafe with places to sit and chill.
You could almost live here. :-)
Big well equipped gym, lots of pools. Very busy during peak hours but is open very early and very late so that helps find a good time to go. Only cold tub I'm aware of in the city. Bonus: work out under a sweet tent.
I have been attending the Repsol Sport Centre for a while now and I'm currently enjoying their group exercise classes the most! The Get Ripped classes have been awesome and the instructors are great! Always looking forward to attending their class!
This place has something for everyone, swimming aerobic and running activities, workout gym, diving, hot tub, steam room, and even a cold pool. Kid and adult friendly, there is a reason why this is the most popular fitness facility in Calgary. Great free parking all around, which is fabulous for downtown Calgary. They really need to do something about the rabbits however. I almost hit 3 of them on the entrance this morning (Sept 25, 2019)
Good place for swimming, it has been quite clean all of the times that we have visited. The only downside to this facility is the parking. Depending on the time of the day that you visit will mean driving around the lot looking for an empty spot. At times this lot has been full and you will have to park in another pay lot and walk over.
Great gym / sports centre close to downtown. I was here as a drop-in and was impressed how affordable the drop-in rates are (for a day pass!). We used the track oval as well as the weight machines and the hot tub. With the track oval being next to and over the pool area, it was a bit hot and humid for us to run, but I would definitely not complain. Overall a great centre, big and with lots of amenities.
I have been registering my son (6 years) in the PD camps and he absolutely loves them. I think they are great value for $47. I found staff very helpful in getting me set up and registered and he seamed to really like them. I wanted to get my daughter (4 years) into their summer camps as well, unfortunately she is too young for a full day... we wait then. Very convenient and helpful program
Been going here for a couple years now. Purely with the amount of facilities they have offered here makes the membership worth it. Cam get little busy at peek hours but once you have that figured out it's not bad. Decent parking lot size is also a bonus.
I’m absolutely in love with this place. Probably got the best workout machines and the best basketball court in the whole of Calgary. Awesome customer service. Also, shoutouts to Elmi for being one of the best Repsol representatives I’ve met at this facility, he’s always cheerful and friendly.
Very nice sport center, Olympic sized pools, running track gym and even more. Staff do a decent job, if you lose something you have a 95% chance of getting it back, gets washed and stored in big till you come get it. Great place
One of Calgary's best facilities. Has 5 full gyms, dive tank, two full size swimming pools, hot tubs, cold tubs, yoga studio, workout area and gym facilities and more. Fitness classes are also great. Really good for the cost of membership.
Known previously as Talisman center and Lindsey Park, the newly branded Repsol Center is great. Especially if you are a swimmer. There are two Olympic sized pools (chlorine, for those that are not a fan of salt water pools that are overly warm). The pools always have public lanes going even if there are team practices going on. They care that the public has access at all hours. The gym is also good, there are constantly employees cleaning and addressing problems. I haven't tried their classes, but those are available for members to join as well. Overall the facilities are good and prices are reasonable for the size and scale of the center. Highly recommend the Repsol Center.
Not too bad for swimming. The staff is awesome. Leaving the parking lot sucks. The pool has a lot of events and the last couple times the jumping platforms were closed. The gym has a lot of pretty girls and handsome men. If your sick of looking at the bar for a waste of space boyfriend or girlfriend go here.
I like talisman centre better but, when I used to go it was massively spacious, and lots of room for all sports. Front desk staff was always very nice and had just about everything you could possibly need. Great place.
The facility itself is beautiful, but they need to hire security. I had 2 men (who appeared to be
Repsol customers ) approach me in the parking lot. When I told the staff, they didn't even seem phased by it, and explained that they don't leave the premises alone at night. City of Calgary pools have security on premises at all time and I feel much safer at them.
High End sports facility. Great service and good, clean pools. Would benefit from a better and more up to date posting of available swim lanes. The current system is hard to work out, and often not up to date.
Place is always full of kids going in for swimming lessons, which gets a bit annoying. Gym is pretty well equipped, and the track and swimming pools are good additions. Trainers are helpful if you ask for advise. Convenient hours as well and getting a family membership makes it super affordable.
A very good place to go if you want to work out. The pool is deep and it has huge diving board up high. There is a place where you can run around and lift weights. There is a fun to where you can play badminton, basketball and other stuff. A little pricy but I would recommend it.
Great facility! Was helped by Elmi at the front desk recently and got amazing service, better than I had expected and definitely better than I would have gotten at my previous gym.
