This is one of my favourite dessert places in Vancouver. The cake slices are quite large here. Most of them are 9.75$ price and can easily be shared by two people. The signature hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream was also delicious. I highly recommend this place and will visit again.

I tried a basque cheesecake and a pecan pie. Cheesecake was great but I would go to other shops for pecan pie. Other than that server was helpful I liked that it was quiet than other cafes.

Ordered a red velvet photo cake for my birthday. The cake was beautiful but the best part was how good the red velvet cake was. A lot of red velvet cakes are too sweet for my liking but this one was not. My friends also said the same thing. I recommend them!

Decent. I live nearby so have been many times over the years. The darker (chocolatey) cakes have always been very good, in my experience; whenever I've tried lighter-coloured cakes they've been a bit dry and dull. Not sure if that trend is coincidental. I've been served a sadly cold espresso a few times too. Trifles are usually pretty good, though, and the couple of times I've had cheesecake they were good too but those were a long time ago. (Safeway's cheesecakes are great and Breka is across the street, so...) Boozy drinks are generally fine. If you want a chocolate cake (any type), True Confections is pretty damn good; otherwise it's just a decent place to sit down in the West End and you might be disappointed if you're expecting fancy goodness. They try hard with the service; if it's quiet it's usually very good. (I've been to the Broadway location only a few times, but they've been 5* so far. For whatever that's worth.)

The diplomat cake is the best thing they make. The cake is so light but so very tasty. Whenever we buy something from true confections it has to be the diplomat cake. The chocolate cake is not bad, one can have that as well if wished.

Where do I begin... I went in to grab a coffee on the go and let me tell you I definitely stayed and not only did I have coffee but a delicious piece of carrot cake! The lady working was so kind and made me feel so welcome. She checked on me few times and made me feel like I was in Europe. I really never write reviews but I had to for this experience. I will be going back to try all the different cakes!

We've been eating dessert at True Confections since we were newlyweds living in Kits in 1991. Huge fans of the chocolate orange cake (in fact, when we moved to the states, we'd always bring a whole chocolate orange cake back with us on the plane). So sad to discover this week that it's not on the menu now. But the Belgian chocolate mousse is phenomenal.

3 stars only because some of their cakes are really good, but some were not so great. The caramel cake was delicious, but the red velvet was really dry. Chocolate cake was too sweet, but peanut butter cheesecake was good!

I had the English trifle today. It is honestly the best trifle I have ever had outside England. It's very authentic and is a good size. Absolutely delicious!

Today was my first time at True Confections Denman and I had dessert with two of my close friends. Martini was our server and was extremely polite and accommodating! She recommended many delicious desserts and we settled for the strawberry cheesecake and the devil's chocolate cake which went well with the green tea. It was a great feeling to sit down with good company and share delightful desserts! I highly recommend as the ambiance was pleasant and the service was exceptional! We will definitely be returning soon!

I''ve been going to this location for years. It's always a great place to stop in for dessert and tea or coffee! The cakes and pies are always yummy and the staff are friendly. This place is doing a good job at adhering to COVID guidelines and clean often and thoroughly which I appreciate.

I would give 5 stars but I can't. I like their food, and we frequently order delivery from here BUT I don't think we have received a completely accurate order from them. Either stuff would be missing from our order entirely (and not credited back), or they will replace something we wanted with something we don't without contacting us. I don't know if their staff are drunk or high but we order extra expecting them to mess up something. I would recommend the Hazelnut Belgian Mousse Torte though, it is amazing. Their chocolate Pecan Pie is also excellent. Anyway, order extra if you order from here because I guarantee something will be missing or different.

A good place to go for dessert in the evening as they are open until Midnight. Limited street parking in the west end and you maybe looking for a spot for a few minutes. Typically it’s busy at night, and you maybe waiting a little to be seated. Staff are not too welcoming and the ambiance is not amazing. But the do have great desserts, the chocolate peanut butter cheesecake is amazing and they have delicious milkshakes.

The desserts are fantastic. It is the one thing that hasnt changed. Unfortunately the presentation of the cakes behind the glass case, which as you know is the best part the True Confection experience, has fallen below standards. The glass case as you can see has not been cleaned and just does not make for a great first impression. Nonetheless the cakes are still as I mentioned before Fantastic

I’ve been before but took the fiancé here for his first time. Needless to say again was far from disappointed. There is a vintage charm about this place that creates a well needed atmosphere is our busy city. The cake sizes have gotten bigger if anything but remain incredibly affordable. Anytime I’m downtown I will continue to make time for a tea and slice of cake. Brava to the owner for keeping the charm and always impressing.

Amazing birthday cake and service from True Confections. They accommodated my last minute request, and we had the white savannah cake. SO GOOD! Everyone asked where the cake was from. Will definitely purchase a cake here again! They also offer cake and pie by the slice 😋

Have been coming here since it opened. The diplomat is different than the Bon Ton but still very good and the chocolate hazelnut is excellent. The pieces don't look that big but they are more than sufficient.

Ordered a cheesecake for a birthday 5 days ahead of time. Arrived early but wasn't a problem at all. I was phoned 15 minutes before they arrived and contacted again once they were outside. The cheesecake was perfect and so was the strawberry topping. Will order again. :)

Great desserts. Decor is good but definitely has a 90s old school vibe. Staff is friendly and very helpful. We had the milk chocolate hazelnut cake. It didn't have overpoweringly dark chocolate or wasn't decadently sweet which is exactly what we were looking for. Also had the steamed apple cider which was decent and went well on a cold evening.

I have been going to True Confections for years, both for the quality of their cakes and their excellent and friendly service. Seasonal favourites add a little spice to their usual menu mix, and have been a good excuse to catch up with my cake buddies every few months (albeit separately in these days of restrictions). Keep an eye out for their matcha cake, and my all-time favourite dessert -- their maple walnut cheesecake!!

I have been coming to this place for over 8 years. The place is amazing and cozy. You can pop in for a quick coffee and dessert or stay in and chill (the staff are always friendly and welcoming and the desserts are to die for) the place also stays open late which is perfect for a late night date or a place to get together. I love this place and can’t say enough about it.

The cakes and pies are delightful and delicious! My favourite is their red velvet and my kids both like the birthday cake and devil cake? This place is a great treat for adults and children alike. Staff are kind and helpful. She had a welcoming, warm smile and very personable. 💕💕💕

After a night out at "VanDusen's Glow in the Garden" halloween event we went for dessert at True Confections on Denman. My wife and I were still in our halloween make-up when we arrived. We garnered a little bit of attention but not for our unique make-up, but for the "Oooing" and Awwing" at the eye consuming, mouth watering, lip smacking dessert display in their case. Each time the waiter walked by with a plate full of cake or pie, we oooed and awwwed. It boiled down to a selection of what you want and what you're willing to share with your spouse and/or your friends. The size of your dessert is larger than your normal serving portion and the price reflects that. It is definitely worth the money. Too yummy to turn down and a must return in order to experience the other choices. Great way to end the night with those you value in your life.

I'm giving four stars solely based on the strength of their cakes. The flavor is very good but the slices are waaaaay over-priced for their size. Plus, the staff isn't the most friendly or welcoming. If you can get past those issues, then it's a good spot to go.

We came in Sunday july 25th at 11.25pm the servers where counting the sales of the day at the table in front of the cakes and didnt look at us and then one pointed to the cakes and that was it no greeting no nothing and then we where told from the girl behind the counter we had to take the food out and couldnt eat in the place. Not nice, they could have said they where closed, they need to change that online. Really great deserts i will still come back.

Friday night was a gong show. Not organized at all between the people sitting in and people coming in for take out. Did not have proper social distancing protocols, at one point many ppl came in to order take out. The music also doesn't match the environment.. it seems like a relaxing place to have a coffee and dessert but loud dancing music was playing in the background which doesn't provide me with a great experience.

Are you craving some cake? If so, definitely worth visiting! Portions are well sized, and have wide range of different cakes. My favourite for now is Coconut Cream! Perfect ratio of sponge, custard and coconut :)

This is my go-to place for Tiramisu. I had Tiramisu in Rome and still it wasn't as good. The patio was open and the place felt safe for dine-in service for Covid-conscious people. I highly recommend this place.

Always a treat when you look at the dessert station which is always stuffed with a good selection of cakes. I always get the classic chocolate and try to find the seat at the corner watching people passing by on the Denman street, and have my mind wander around while slowly devouring the piece in the evenings.

Their cheesecake was ok, nothing to write home about. Not as good as it used to be years ago. The New York cheesecake was dense but the base was decent. The portion was on the small side for the price. The blueberry coulis had no flavour and watery. Service left something to be desired. She was rude and impatient. Will not be going back.

oh no, I can go there any more. I buy a birthday cake with candles 3 day ahead of my fiance surprise birthday. I was in rush on that day and just grabbed the package and left. when the surprise was about to happen, I open the box and oooh no, there was no candles!!!!! I had a surprise for my fiance with out candles....! the 3 stars is for the good quality of cake and deserts. but responsibility and organization of staff is not good. but they are friendly and made a refund for candles only !!

Anytime me and my friends go there, it’s guaranteed that Martin is gonna take a good care of us. Her sincerity and unique sense of humor is a bonus to the good quality coffee and wonderful pastries. Ask for her recommendations on drinks and cocktails. She is one of a kind.

If you haven't yet, you have to try the salted caramel white cake with buttercream icing. It's the best cake ever. All of their cakes are fabulous, and great pricing for custom orders.

Yesterday morning I had a business meeting in this coffee shop . I met Martin . She was adorable and full of personality plus. She was attentive and very knowledgeable with great sense of humour.I was very happy and comfortable there. I will definitely have more meetings there because of Martin and the excellent services .

I visited this cafe with my husband for my birthday and we were both in heaven the second we opened the door! The birthday cake was fantastic and the cheesecake smooth as silk! I'm not a local but if I were I would be here every Sunday. Sweet tooths beware! You'll want to order half the menu!

I was looking for the best classic chocolate cake and found it here! Tried the strawberry shortcake as well! I was the first customer for the day and the server was great to recommend whats best. Saw a lot of people ordering whole cakes here. I never wonder why.. their cakes are amazing!
