I really enjoyed the food at The Basic. We had the Eggs Benedict and it was delicious. The service was also really good, quick and efficient. The hostess was hustling around the place, cleaning the tables quickly and getting everyone seated in a timely manner! Nice little patio as well.

It was also known previously as Joe's Grill. It was a Saturday Morning. We sat outside on the side patio and the weather was beautiful. I had the Denver omelette, potatoes, a coffee and it was good. The atmosphere was fun and the server was nice and he was moving quick. He was running around the inside and outside taking orders and clearing tables. Didn't seem like too many other people were out front helping. But service was quick and he kept the coffee coming!

I just had a baby at St. Luke’s hospital next door and my wife had a very specific, to-go breakfast request that three other restaurants said they could not accommodate. The Basic’s incredibly friendly staff not only accommodated my order but sat me down to a coffee on the house. I will be returning here with the new baby next time we are downtown.

First time here and the food was so delicious that I forgot to take a photo! Friendly staff with proper COVID protocols in place. Husband thoroughly enjoyed his corned beef hash breakfast, and the portions were very generous! Will come back again for sure!

After trying a few breakfast joints today, hungry and not wanting to wait in line, I stumbled onto this gem. Luckily (and apparently out of character at the time of day) they had a seat for us. I had "the mess" and got much more food than expected. Delicious food at that! Besides that happy circumstance, the service was above and beyond. Our wonderful brunette lady (sorry I don't recall your name!) was always on us, with a smile- truly reviving the lost art of customer service. She was fantastic. I'll definitely be back. A great dining experience. Thanks for the fantastic breakfast!

The service here was absolutely amazing. The servers and staff were extremely friendly and not once did we run out of coffee, water or having our needs met. Our server Jen was the BOMB and Rob And Sumiyo kept the coffee topped up. The real strawberry milkshake was AMAZINGGGG!!!
