This place has received very good reviews, we recommend visiting them. Sure they’ll give you a very great service.
If you are in the Financial District and looking to grab a quick plant-based burger, give this place a try. It's quite a popular vegan burger shop. The burger menu changes from time to time, so check before you want to visit. Delicious, crispy fries and onion rings. Buffalo cauliflower was nice but is not always consistent. Giant chocolate cookie was very buttery.
The strawberry shake is the best thing here ~ really satisfied the craving...creamy quality and true to flavour.
As a vegan the rest of the meal was decent and unfortunately didn’t hit the spot...had to ask for more cheese for the cheese fries because it was so lightly drizzled on, the Kentucky burger (which I was told was one of the staff’s favourites) was disproportionate and lacked flavour (the fried mushrooms are tiny and there were only two, the pieces of tofu were so thick, soft and oily with barely any sauce). The buffalo cauliflower my friend had was okay (and I used to enjoy that when visiting in the past). Had been wanting to revisit this spot and finally did so after a couple of years. Used to love their farro meatball sandwich with pesto...it was so flavourful but it has been removed from the menu. So now I’d only return for the milkshakes.
We got the classic burger and the buffalo cauliflower, the burger wasn’t bad but wasn’t mind blowing either. It was also a little mushed when it showed up.
The buffalo cauliflower though was insane, I was pleasantly surprised by how it tasted and the pickled ginger was a nice touch.
I ordered through Door Dash and my driver had my food for an hour before delivering so unfortunately my food was cold and soggy.
Looking past that though, I was disappointed in the actual patty. You can really taste the beans and the texture of the grains (quinoa?).
The fries were good. I really love nutritional yeast on my fries. I wish they were crunchier but again, that’s not the restaurants fault.
I’d love to try their salads based on other reviews but I would pass on order the burger again.
Been a fan of Planta Burger for a few years now. First time trying their Banh mi Burger today and loved it. Truffle fries are still my fave with the buffalo cauliflower 😊👍
Love this place. Yesterday we enjoyed the delicious south west burger , cauliflower wings, my husband ordered Kentucky burger and crinkled fries. Amongst both I would highly recommend South west burger. My new favorite place.
Ordered the Classic Burger along with the Buffalo cauliflower bites, fries and onion rings.
Burger was great! Quite flavourful and did not fall apart which is typically an issue with vegan burgers. Really tasty patty that doesn’t try to emulate meat and has great texture. I also really enjoyed the Buffalo cauliflower bites, they weren’t too spicy and had great flavours. The fries and onion rings were tasty as well.
Cute little spot with great decor. Limited indoor seating due to Covid, but there is an outdoor patio to enjoy your food.
Overall, no complaints for Planta Burger. The only thing is that parking is limited nearby, so it isn’t the easiest location to get to. I cannot wait to return and try the other menu items!
Alessia Benedetta Platania
Great. In particular their oreo milkshake is a must to try!
Ordered the Kentucky burger with fries. The burger had fried mushroom and tofu steak and tastes good. The fries were crispy and well done. The overall flavour of the burger could improve
Had the truffle burger with truffle fries and oreo milkshake. Love it all! Very filling, clean taste, nice ambience. Will definitely be back to try all the burgers.
Love the burgers and salad! My favourite is the truffle burger. Everything is very light and tasteful! Staff also friendly.
Nice menu. Strawberry vegan milkshake is the best here. Onion rings a must try. Nice quiet ambience.
Vegan Burger joint! And I am not talking Beyond Meat burgers.
Right next to the Dineen Building I was eyeing this place during my entire stay downtown and I even walked in intending to order lunch one Tuesday only to find they were closed for the day!
I went back when they were open and I ordered the spicy California burger, Buffalo cauliflower, onion rings and a Chocolate (Oat) Shake.
The burger was great! I'd say bean based but the texture was really good for a meat substitute.
The cauliflower was excellent! I loved the spicing.
The Chocolate shake was yummy. Thick for a non-dairy drink.
The onion rings were the only let-down... they were standard onion rings available literally anywhere. They did not stack up against the rest of the food.
If I lived nearby I'd be a regular!
Solid "meh" out of 10. After hearing about this place for years and how legendary the burger was, I came out very disappointed. As this is a gourmet burger, I feel like they tried to make it overly moist, but it just fell apart and ended up tasting like a pea soup between lettuce and bread. A "juicy" vegan patty just doesn't work, and while it may be innovative, it does not taste or stay together like a burger should. Maybe that isn't the intention - maybe the original vision is to have a unique vegetarian experience that shouldn't be compared to regular burgers. Either way, it was not a satisfying eating experience.
Maybe I'm being too harsh and the competition has just gotten better in the years since PLANTA made their debut, but in terms of satisfaction, the Beyond Meat or Impossible Burger can hit the spot just as good.. albeit in a different, drier way.
I had the truffle burger It was delicious and very filling. It comes with parmesan fries and onion rings. The onion rings were so good and I loved the parmesan on both. It is a small joint nothing to it as a restaurant. Everything was served hot and fresh. Excellent value for my money.
This was the first visit to Planta Burger having visited Planta numerous times. Honestly, it was a slightly disappointing experience. Highlights of the visit would be the value for a vegan meal in Toronto, the crinkle cut fries with nut crumble and the interior of the restaurant. Some aspects that could be improved upon are the burger buns, burger patties and mushrooms on the Caesar salad. The buns should be delicious and memorable on a gourmet burger, these were not. The patties appeared to be pre-cooked, reheated and therefore very dry. The mushrooms on the Caesar were nowhere close to replicating bacon. They should be salty, smoky and crispy, rather than just straight up sauteed mushrooms. Also, one of the key items on my truffle burger didn't make it on. Still, if you're looking for good value for a vegan fast food meal, this place may be worth a try.
Amaizing burgers & great service. A must for any vegan in TO
We ordered the firehouse burger from Palm lane. It's on the heavier side with lots of sauce but overall tastes good. Would be better if there's an option for whole wheat bun/lettuce wrap. Personally I'd also like the lentil patty to be a bit more smashy.
Great place for vegans. Ordered California Burger. Great tasty burgers
My first time eating here and one of the very few times I've eaten vegan. It was delicious! I had the classic burger, truffle fries, and a strawberry milkshake. It was good value and very tasty, and the staff were friendly and efficient. I'd definitely come back.
I don't have photos because once I started eating I couldn't stop. Vegan food. Burgers, fries, milkshakes, salads. 10/10 will go again.
Got the secret burger, the meatball and the green goddess...and no regrets. So good and flavourful Also, definitely get the buffalo cauliflower. Service is great too!
Definitely coming back to try out everything else on the menu! Matt was also very friendly!
Delicious plant-based food! I had the meatball burger and firehouse fries, which were both so so yummy! Highly recommend checking it out, vegans and non-vegans alike!
First time I tried a Planta Burger I was not pleased. The California burger is not tasty.
All the other times after that I’ve been quite pleased. The Firehouse and Southwest burger are very delicious and tasty. The firehouse fries and truffle fries are very nice.
Artem, Rosa and everyone here is amazing. They still made my burger for me and threw in a salad for free despite them shutting down early because no one had been there with 3 hours and it was getting close to closing time.
I had my usual Southwest burger and got to try the kale salad for free tonight. I didn’t know what to expect from it but let me tell you this is the best salad I’ve ever eaten. There are so many juicy, delicious flavours and my mouth is having mouthgasms. I will be coming back for me. Thank you guys so much for tonight. I really appreciate it.
I have just started to become acquainted with plant based food. Planta is amazing and Patricia's suggestions were great. The Buffalo Cauliflower was like chicken wings, and the Southwest (mushroom/lentil) Burger was pink inside! Generous toppings like avocado and caramelised onions. I even got a sample of the pulled pork from jackfruit. Wow, sweet and smokey. See you again soon!
We went during the last hour before close so it’s no wonder they were out of the buffalo cauliflower already. The staff were super friendly and offered the firehouse fries in their place and they were a tasty second choice. The fries are a tad thin for my preference though (not my cup of tea.)
All vegan and tasty. We grabbed everything an took it back to our hotel. The crab cake burger was definitely something unique and I enjoyed the different than usual option.
Milkshakes are tasty but not very thick.
All in all a good experience. I just wish they stayed open longer.
Overall really solid comfort food. I ordered the meatball burger and it came with fries and I ordered the buffalo cauliflower. I think the burger itself has great flavour from the sauces but the meatballs were kind of dry, it’s also a small burger too. The fries felt like McDonald fries with truffle on it (def could have used more seasoning on it). The buffalo cauliflower was the real hero, just super yummy. Overall the food costed $16 so not cheap but normal for Toronto vegan food.
Burgers are delicious and the price is excellent! All burgers come with truffle fries which are also really nice. These are some of the best vegan burgers in the city!
So I'm one of those people who love beef burgers, but I decided to give this place a try since it looked interesting. I am actually shocked at how good a vegetarian burger can be (and actually even better than a lot of beef burger places!). Everything was great, the flavour, the freshness, the fries were amazing and the side salad delicious too and worth the upgrade. It was great value for the money and I will be back for sure!
Best burgers non vegan or vegan. No debate.
We came here on a Friday for lunch. I recommend getting take out if you come during peak hours since the restaurant is pretty small and there is limited seating. I love the fact that all of their burgers comes with truffle fries included in the price. All of their burgers have a set price and are delicious. We had the classic as well as the crab burger which remarkably tasted just like a giant crab cake. Their buffalo cauliflower and onion rings were also really good and probably would have been enough food on its own. I was disappointed by the truffle fries however because they didn't really have any truffle flavour. I would high recommend giving this place a try as it was delicious
The best burger I have ever had. This burger is 10x better than any beef burger I ever tried. This place doesn't disappoint. The califlower Here will change your life
- The California Burger was huge! It was loaded to the top with toppings. It was nice to know (and see) that the burger patty was made in store and was fresh. My stomach was so full afterwards! Patty was a bit too soft but I wouldn’t hold that against them seeing at it had no artificial ingredients.
- Firehouse Fries were very filling as well. It was my first time having bbq jackfruit and I had no idea what to expect. I was very surprised that it tasted similar to beef! Despite it having jalapenos and jalapenos aioli it wasn’t spicy for me. The fries were made perfectly, soft and a little crispy.
- For drinks we chose the Boylan Ginger ale which in my opinion is the best ginger ale you could ever have.
- Very cute modern restaurant
- Very friendly employees (and owners?) who great you when you walk in and always wish you well on your way out
- There is only seating for 18 people inside which is quite small, but their patio does open up in the spring\summer time
- Great for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters who are looking to try something new
- The prices are very reasonable considering everything is fresh, made in house and HEALTHY!
- I will definitely be back to try out other items on their menu!
Awesome food here! Super nice vibe too, awesome music playing. Employees are great. Free cucumber water. Crabless burger is awesome! Fries are good too.
I LOVE THEIR SHAKE. The best shake I've ever had. It's better than Shake shack's one. Even this shake is vegan. I still can't believe how it tastes. Thank you for making this shake<3
tried the Kentucky burger and got onion rings as a side
mushrooms were crunchy but the tofu was lacking in flavour imo
the onion rings could also use a bit more flavour thought the truffle aioli was good
The food is good. Great veggie sandwich options. I have to say it definitely didn't taste like a burger. It was a great sandwich and looked like the part. It was very yummy great flavors I would highly recommend trying it. But its for sure not a burger. If you want a burger this is not the place to get one you will be disappointed. But if you want a good sandwich that taste great this is totally worth trying.
The wings were better and richer than I expected! They dressed them up really nicely. The fries with truffle Parmesan I was expecting a bit more from, in terms of the truffle Parmesan which I couldn’t really SEE lol but they were very tasty. Also grateful because the staff had the music LOUD and I had a headache, and they kindly turned it down for me to a more tolerable level. Thanks!
Delicious vegan fast food, great atmosphere and service. Can be on the pricier side, but that’s to be expected of Toronto.
Really awesome burgers and the service is stellar too!
Good option for vegans and vegetarians, the chocolate milkshake was very good
Service is good, but I had to drink water with it since it was the only thing that had flavour. Quantity could be larger as well
Super delicious only thing is there burgers are really small and I was unhappy with the buns they used. Other than that it was a great atmosphere and great staff food was great just wish it was a little bigger than a JR size bun and patty.
Best food place I've ever been to!! Great portions!! Definitely recommend this place, also its a great place to have a first date!
The food at this place is amazing. I have tried the buffalo burger with no bun, ate it a few hours later and it was magnificent. I've eaten the cauliflower multiple times and tried the caesar salar today which was unreal! The staff is great. My only quam with this place is that I order with the Ritual app (order in advance so you can arrive to grab your meal at a set time and not have to wait) The food has always taken longer to make - which I can't be mad at, but its going to be late, just let me know in advance rather than waiting at the location when I expected to pick up the food and run.
Combo is $10.50 including a burger and fries/salad. The staff is extremely friendly. Fantastic place for vegetarians!!!
Hands down best vegan burger and fries I've had. Got the Firehouse burger and fries, great recommendation from the friendly staff
Food was delicious, but it's very busy around lunch time so don't expect your order to be 100% right, you may have to advise them that something is missing. They will fix it as soon as you bring it to their attention, for example I asked for the fry upgrade but they forgot to upgrade it. When I informed them they did add all the extra toppings. My friend recieved the wrong burger but opted not to get it fixed as that would have "eaten" into our lunch hour (pun intended).
The California burger was delicious, and the fry upgrade is a must! Just make sure you get what you asked for :)
They have one of the best burgers in town...I have tasted almost all off the burgers all are awesome . Cost is $$ but it's k once a while . My favo sides there is onion rings
First time at a vegan restaurant, the planta burger was pretty good, the truffle fries are super addictive. Will be back to try the other burgers which have high reviews. Ritual pick up was great and on time, server was very pleasant, packaging was nice too =)
Such a friendly bright space and the food was delish. Had the California burger and those truffle fries were an amazing addition.
Nelson Chu (tinman0116)
Pretty good. Had the firehouse burger and buffalo cauliflower side.
This place is steps away from Eaton.. They have one of the best burgers in town.. cost is $$ but it's k once a while .. in the sides onion rings my favo. ..
Amazed at some of the negative reviews of this place - perhaps I’m just impressed by the idea of a vegan burger bar (NOT A THING IN LONDON!) but I really love this spot! Have been here three times in two weeks! The buffalo cauliflower burger was PACKED with flavour, I mean seriously well seasoned and the fries are CRAZY GOOD! Spicy AF, but so deicious! Only criticism is lack of draft soda - only cans available, but not a big deal. The place is very casual and informal (again, it’s a burger bar, don’t expect a Michelin restaurant) but service is fast and very smiley.
Planta is the best vegan option in the city. We love going to all the different Planta restaurant's, as they all have something unique to offer. Yesterday's lunch meal at Planta burger was easily one of the best of my life! We've tried everything on the menu, but I'm in love with salads for lunch at this location. Perfection!
Small place, but great food. I tried the original, California and the crab burger, but the winner is definitely the California. Highly recommended!
Great veggie burgers.. It has the blend of perfect bean patty and not beyond meat patty, great sauces, caramelized onions, jalapenos, etc. We ordered California style Burger and Southwest Burger. Both were great and must try their buffalo cauliflower.
Definitely try this place out.
Not the same quality or experience as the original Planta. The food was just ok, but the prices are the same as the Bay & Bloor location which makes it feel disappointing.
The are too many good vegan options to choose this again.
Visiting for the week.
Was happy to find this little vegan burger place
Great selection, will definitely come back
Had their california burger, and it was absolutely mouth watering. Fries are nicely seasoned too! No ketchup needed. Would absolutely be a repeat customer.
Stumbled upon this place and decided to try it and I am SO glad I did. This will definitely be a go-to for me now. I got the California burger which has to be one of the best burgers I've had in the city, even more impressive since it's vegan. They definitely don't skimp on the toppings and I'm pretty sure this place has managed to create the perfect burger bun. Also order the buffalo cauliflower as a side. I was a bit skeptical at first because I usually expect them to be drenched in sauce and these weren't however they were delicious and crunchy with just the right amount of kick. I can never manage to get the crunch when I try and make these myself so I will probably be addicted to these now. The service was also super friendly. Will be back soon to check out more of the menu (milkshakes!).
Amazing taste and good price for the portion! Friendly staff with great customer service.
Good place to grab a plant based burger and fries. Limited seating available, staff were friendly. And kombucha on tap even though not on the menu.
Great little fast food nook. Friendly people, delicious “buffalo cauliflower.”
So yummy and afford and fantastic. Great bang for your buck. Beer is pretty cheap too. Obviously you're going to spend a bit more than McDonalds but it's quality and so worth it
Planta Burger is the new upscale burger joint from its vegan restaurant counterpart, Planta. Overall, the menu items were pretty good and able to fulfill junk food cravings while remaining pretty wholesome in terms of ingredients. The burgers are overall yummy; since the patties and toppings vary, it's difficult to make overall generalizations. The potato-based cheese sauce is interesting, and the fries are cooked perfectly and thin. As for drink offerings, the kombucha and milkshakes are quite tasty as well. The seating area is quite cramped and it can get busy inside. It's better to order to-go. The price point is quite high for the average person, but significantly cheaper than the restaurant.
Pretty meh overall. The pattie was very small and the ratio to the bun was all off.
Firehouse burger or the Jack fruit burger are the best items to order 😍
What a great place to have a vegetarian burger! Since it was my first time, hostess recommended to have a California burger and I also took Taco salad instead of fries. Delicious! Will definitely visit again!
Their Ceasar salad was the best I've ever had! It was so flavourful almost a meal in itself. I've had a couple different burgers here and both were great... Classic and California I think. Staff is friendly. Service was fast. Love the decor too!
Taste like fast food in the best way possible. Eat here.
Burgers on the rocks, don't forget the salads
Planta Burger is very good. As far as the Planta empire that seems to be growing it may be my favorite. It doesn't have the slighty pretentious vibe that the Yorkville Planta does. Expect to pay more for these tasty burgers but I believe it's worth it. Also the fries are ridiculously good. I've had the southwest and the meatball and they were both excellent. And who doesn't love a takeout style place that serves beer?
Best burger I've ever had. Sorry for bite, but I was hungry
Vegans On The Run
nice selection, best cheese fries ive tasted
A bit pricy considering what you get. I found that other vegetarian locations offer better tasting meals at even better prices. Location is nice and staff were friendly.
Burger is sooo good!!! And the fries are delicious too. Going back today for the milkshake
Get the salted caramel milkshake.
Bring the boys to the yard.
I dare ya.
Also, the Buffalo cauliflower bites were awesome!
Good food, we were received like kings.
Delicious veg burgers , I really recommend this place. I think , it’s will be nice if they expand their menu
You’re going to LOVE Planta Burger! Amazing plant-based menu options such as burgers (obviously), salads, and some sweet treats. The truffle fries are always a delicious accompaniment to any menu item. The staff are super friendly and always efficient... considering how busy and crowded it can get. However, this location’s patio definitely makes up for the minimal indoor seating.
Sitting is pretty limited and so is the menu, but the Classic Burger was pretty delicious and queso fries were ok
I LOVE this place. (And always love a 100% vegan resto) Amazing cauli tots & and cauli salad. Plus the milkshakes are to die for-I crave them all the time!!! (12/10)
Amazing! Experience of a burger joint with no meat!
The truffle fries were too salty were my tastes.
Got the classic burger and buffalo cauliflower. Absolutely amazing. Great taste, texture, and service. However, I very strongly recommend that management adds some nutrition info going forward
