A highly suggest restaurant for romantic date night! We ordered a chef’s special seafood pasta and a lobster ravioli. While the pasta was very filling, the lobster ravioli was very small in size. The server also gave out a perfect wine under our comments and suggestions. The server must’ve forgotten when we asked for more bread, that we kept waiting but had to ask again towards the end. Overall, I enjoyed the dinner here at Mamma Teresa!

Me and my bf went there to celebrate our 4th anniversary as we went there on our very 1st date. The vibe and the food are still the same. Delicious and we had a great time!

Food was great and service was fantastic. We each had the snails for starters and it was very tasty. Save some bread for dipping it in the garlic sauce. The fresh bread is served right away and it was nice and warm. I had the combination plate that had veal parmigiana, tortellini and cannelloni that was stuffed with veal. My partner had the Penne with Italian sausage. Everything was very tasty.

Very attentive service, they were on top of all the orders! This place is great for large reservations and also intimate dining. The appetizers were very quick, but there was a small wait for the main course. Everyone was very happy with their meals. As mentioned in other reviews, the main courses could be plated nicer, but that's something that doesn't bother me personally.

When you make the optimal decision to eat at Mamma Teresa’s, you’re choosing an experience beyond just a meal. Our server John at Table 1 was undoubtedly the best server we have ever experienced, with myself having a history in the industry. The food was well portioned and authentic. Atmosphere is enchanting. Wine selection top notch. We were just in the mood for some Italian when we opted to go here and it quickly become our ritual restaurant when we’re back for Christmas / celebrating our engagement. It’s a special place that treats you like family and with moms best cooking. Shared Muscles - unreal I had Penno with sausage - perfect hint of heat and spice, large portion She had Chef seafood special - large portion, scallions were perfect, large shrimp, quality. Garlic bread - buttery and savoury , paired great with the olives served. Bread served for garlic sauce for muscles was fresh made and just, unreal. Whole experience was next level, will be telling all business, family and and friends to support and enjoy a meal and time here. Just go, you WILL NOT regret it.

Mamma Teresa's is easily the best Italian food in Ottawa. Every time my wife and I go, the staff make us feel like we're family. Extremely attentive and kind, and always willing to go out of their way to accommodate any sort of food allergy/preference. I've eaten here at LEAST 50 times, and have never been anything but delighted with my order. Everything on the menu is delicious, and the staff can always provide an excellent recommendation. The entire restaurant is kept immaculately clean, and the staff make sure to abide by all protocols to provide everyone a safe dining experience. If you're looking for Italian food, a place to take your date/family, or simply a well-cooked meal, Mamma's is where you need to go!

Delicious and classic Italian food, with generous portions. Staff are attentive and hard-working. Very classy atmosphere. However, we got sat at a table in a corner that felt improvised likely because the restaurant was quite busy, even though we had reservations. I felt uncomfortable with all the foot traffic behind me, waiters rushing back and forth, and afraid that someone would spill something on me. Other than that, not too bad.

Nothing less than the finest Italian food in Ottawa. Every time I visit this place my memory flies back to imagine Giuliano Boselli at the main stairs. Since they opened in 1970 they created a legend in the city and after Frank and Walter decided to take the steering wheel of the business in 2008 they have done a great job to continue the magic tradition of Mamma Teresa. The are so good that they opened a new restaurant in Chelsea, QC. The food continues with its delicious flavor and once the chefs do their magic, the dishes work by themselves to fall in love with them. If you check the menu, Giuliano continues present in some special dishes as well as the image of Mamma Teresa by the main entrance. This place is magic and they even continue with their white tableclothes. They have now outdoor tables and the dressing code has been adapted through the new customers. But believe me, the former clients, continue loving the place with the Boselli family in every single space of the place creating a pre-known cozy environment. They have found the key to continue giving the best service to different generations considering a variety of taste prefernces and food intolerances from new and former customers. All the options will provide a pleasant flavor to your mouth an you will find it hard to find your favorite dishes among a wide number of options. My favorite will continue being the Caesar's Salad and Lobster Ravioli. It was glad for me to see the tradition continues with more than excellent service, outstanding food and immesurable memories. Our experience here was one of the best at any Italian restaurant I have tried. Our waiter Gary was amazing, always ready with a quick fact, great at answering questions about the menu and really seems to make it his goal that you have the best time and I do fear that he will be successful at doing so. And the food was just outstanding, the dishes were all greatly appreciated. I do plan on visiting again more than a couple times since it is that great of a whole experience.

We had such an amazing and unforgettable experience. Despite they were crazy busy and fully booked for reservation, Walter in particular was very accommodating and very nice enough to give us a table for six. We were very pleased and touched by his kind gesture that he even allowed us to park our vehicle beside the table we were eating. If it happens you go visit this town, please make sure to try this out and experience the amazing service that we have experienced. Highly recommend this restaurant!!!!

While exploring the streets of Ottawa, we passed by this cozy Italian restaurant. The restaurant had a "home" feel. There's parking on the side of the building and the staff spoke Italian. Ordered several dishes and they were all quite tasty. The chocolate espresso cake was very moist and tasty, not too sweet. Perfect way to end the meal. Portions were huge! Prepare to have leftovers!

The service was great and the food came out quickly. The menu is quite extensive but the drinks were quite expensive. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food, but I have had better. Perhaps it was my dish. We have been here before, and the great thing about this place is that although it was a white tablecloth restaurant, it was not stuffy and formal. We stayed for a while after dinner with drinks and conversation and were not rushed out after we paid the bill. They were very good about giving us separate cheques for a party of seven. I had eggplant parmigiana with penne marcella (not pictured). The breading on the eggplant was thick and the item was quite soft. I do not cook with salt but felt my dish needed some seasoning. Perhaps this was because I did not add any cheese to my dish. I have had better. It was not very hot. The bread in the basket was dry, and I did not see anyone have more than one small slice from the baguette.

Exactly what you'd expect from a decades-long incumbent Italian restaurant. Everything was made fresh, but nothing very innovative on the menu, which was a holdover from another age and as such didn't really highlight any veggie options. Staff was prompt and casual. Sept 2021: No Covid checks, really, for indoor dining so a bit of hesitation to support them again from me.

This is my personal favorite for Italian cuisine in Ottawa. Great atmosphere, delicious food, and very welcoming staff. Nice little patio for those summer nights as well. Great spot for a date night.

Finally, my first meal at Mamma Teresa. Fantastic. Started with huge plate of fried zucchini. Best I've ever had. Had the eggplant. Was delicious. Sauce had a nice spicy bite to it. Finished with light chocolate mousse. Service was very good. Lived up to expectations.

Had a good evening at Mamma Teresa. Had a reservation and were promptly seated when we arrived. We were quickly and nicely greeted by our server. Our appetizer and drinks were soon dropped off at our table. Our drinks were good. We ordered bruschetta parmigiano which was served slightly different than what most buschetta. Bread was soft and there seemed to be a little too much cheese than what I'm used too. Other than that, our mains were great. The italian coffee after our mains was delicious. Other than the appetizer (which could be just a different style of buschetta that I am not used too) our first visit was great and I hope to be back soon.

I love this place. Generous servings, top-notch service, delicious food and wine. I have too many favorites here but the gnocchi in blue cheese sauce and the lobster ravioli are standbys for me. Had the fresh lobster with linguini and clams for dinner for Father's Day. Worth every penny. My son loves the smelts from here as well :)

The service is amazing. The chef seafood pasta wasn’t the greatest. The seasoning wasn’t good. Would not recommend there is much better places and are cheaper. However, my friend had meatballs and the seasoning was great. Overpriced but very cute and cozy restaurant.

This Italian restaurant is an Ottawa institution. The walls are adorned with photos of politicians and celebrities that have eaten there over the years. The pasta is superb. The waiters are knowledgeable about a respectable wine list. Don't go to the restaurant for the beer. Mamma Teresa is upscale, has great service, and caters to the capital's professional crowds.

We came to the restaurant for an early dinner. We offered white bread, olives, pickled green hot pepper and the olive oil and vinegar to start. We asked for three different red wines and all of them were very good quality. My friends ordered dishes with veal and chicken and found them very feeling and delicious. Tiramisu and cappuccino were mouth watering. We will be back for sure.

Honestly can’t even express my gratitude to this place. Food is always perfect but what really put it over the top was their service. I wasn’t even dining in (just a pick up) and yet I was treated with so much care and respect. Everyone said hi to me and constantly made sure that I was taken care of. I’m not sure of their name but one of the managers/supervisors who took care of my order was so kind. I love this place!!!!

We finally had the chance to have a romantic dinner night out at Mama Teresa and it did not disappoint! This is the perfect setting for a fabulous date night - romantic, upscale, beautiful historical building .. perfect dining experience! They bring you warm bread with oil and vinegar along with some olives and peppers to start.... perfect to get your appetite going. We shared the shrimp cocktail (pricey $$ but the shrimps were delicious and perfectly cleaned). For our entrees, he had the veal parm and I had chicken parm both came with spaghetti bolognese (yes, perrrrrrfect) and it was so delicious!!! Their spaghetti sauce was the real winner of the dish and that pasta omg! Too good! The house wine was tasty and fairly priced too. The only con that I could give was that the chicken could have been thinner and a little crispier aaaand some of the other ppl dining near us were not dressed the part...This place is a “nice place” so dress up and enjoy it! The atmosphere, the waiters/service, food, everything was overall a 5/5 truly. I’ll be back! Excited to check out the patio too!

Amazing service, amazing food. The restaurant is a lot bigger than it looks online. It is busy but not overwhelmingly busy. The venetian mussels were probably some of the best mussels I have ever had. The portions are nice and big and the prices are on the average side, but worth every penny. Definitely would go back again.

Our server Johnny and his assistant Thomaso were so attentive - they never left us waiting nor rushed us. Johnny recommended a wine within our budget that was refreshing yet bold - a party for the taste buds! Sadly I forgot to take a photo of the appetizer special - a pesto ravioli - but here are some photos of the extraordinary surf and turf special and a picky vegetarian's off-menu request for egglant parmesan with parpadelle alla pesto-pomodoro. We will be back in two weeks to celebrate my birthday and I hope that Johnny and Thomaso will serve us again!

Great service, great food (dinner), and great atmosphere. We look forward to going back on a date night. I made reservations online. I was also able to make modifications and requests through their email notification. It was a bonus that I didn’t have to call in. I mentioned in my request that we were celebrating my parents wedding anniversary of 35 years. They gave us a lovely private room, nice view. In addition, a complimentary (no-charge) slice of cheesecake for my parents - in honour of the celebration. They start you off with providing you bread, butter balls, and (of course) balsamic/olive oil dipping plate. Waiter was on point. He knew the menu well as he was able to suggest meals and wine pairing. Parking was a hassle as the restaurant doesn’t have their own parking lot. We parked nearby for a flat rate of $5 on a Saturday at 6:15pm. Calamari was delicious. 😍 I ordered the lobster ravioli.

We try to spread our local eating out as much as possible, and this is one of our go to places. We normally order from the Chelsea location and I'm glad to share they have the same great food and service here. I should mention that our order was not quite what we asked for, but we let it go and enjoyed the surprise... COVID busy to blame. I hope the other party was equally forgiving.

Authentic Italian cuisine! Service was excellent and I would go again with my group of friends. Covid has made the seating area too separated but we manage to enjoy the atmosphere and everyone working was knowledge and even it being more high end, they shared a good laugh!

I need more stars to rate this restaurant! What a treat to enjoy the hospitality offered at Mamma Teresa's. This lovely home setting offers not only spectacular Italian dishes but the service is unsurpassed! If the waiters moved any faster they would need roller skates. My wife and I enjoyed dinner here on a Friday night. The restaurant was packed. Service by the smartly dressed waiters was the best we've seen in Canada. Attentive, accurate, polite and helpful. The food is the best Italian we've ever had. The pasta is supreme - cooked to perfection (I had Linguine with Shrimp, Smoked Salmon and Tuna, my wife Spaghetti with veal). A vast selection of dishes, nice choice of wines and beers. Plus dessert. Check out the Tiramisu - the best ever. We will definitely return on our next trip to Ottawa! Well done everyone!

Mama Teresa's is absolutely excellent. Delicious food, great service, and very lovely location. We have ordered the Lobster Ravioli, Veal Marsala with Linguine Clams, and Gnocchi with Tomato Sauce. All are and were amazing, but the lobster ravioli is a must-have. Will definitely be ordering more dishes and supporting this lovely business.

My first time. Truly excellent Italian food! Very polite, friendly service. Loved the caesar salad, and the pasta entré was deliciously fresh with just the right ingredients. I highly recommend this classy restaurant! I live 10 min away so I will certainly eat there again. (Due to pandemic we ate outside on patio - the exceptionally mild weather was a bonus!)

It was my first time being here and I had the most pleasant restaurant experience I've had in a long time. The food and drinks are to die for! We were waited on by a very kind, funny and knowledgable man by the name of Gary who made it his mission to guide us through a wonderful dining experience by recommending us dishes that cater to me and my friend's taste, along with drinks that go well with the meals we had. Although the prices are a little on the high end, i fully believe you get the most out of your money here. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic Italian experience along with a beautiful ambiance. Grazie per il cibo delizioso, noi torneremo!
