Number 1 in Ottawa. Number 1 Italian restaurant. Best choice for a first date. Been there over 20 times, and never ever disappointed (and I'm very difficult to please) Mind blowing dishes, made professionally that will guarantee a big smile on your face ... Won't forget to thank Fernando for the Fabulous service ( wish that I could've taken better pictures today )

The food was really well made. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the Chilean Sea Bass for the catch of the day was cooked to perfection. We ordered the grilled octopus as appetizer and it was worth going back for. Personal preference would be to have a bit more seasoning. One complaint is that we did not receive great service from a secondary waiter. Our primary waiter, Jared was great to us, it was someone else that was less than professional. If one has the money for a decent meal, it is a staple in Little Italy.

What a great experience. Was able to get a seat on the patio. They had a DJ playing great music. Excellent service. Got to try a carbonara pasta. Have seen this dish on several cooking shows ,so wanted to try it. I really enjoyed it. I will definitely go back to this restaurant when I come back to Ottawa

I’m giving this restaurant 5 stars because there service was so good and so genuine. We arrived late and 3 people canceled and they still treated us like the best clients in the restaurant. Everything was perfect wow. Really impressed with this spot .

2021/10/09 - came here for a date night, and the entire experience was phenomenal. I’ve been to Giovanni’s many times before and it never disappoints! My date was very impressed with this restaurant, from the quality of the food and beverages, the atmosphere of the place, and very attentive service of our server, Jared, who I was very impressed with throughout our visit. We will gladly be visiting this restaurant again soon. There is a reason why Giovanni’s has been in business for so long and will continue to thrive as one of Ottawa’s best dining locations! The Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo is oh so good. When ever I go to Giovanni's that's what I would order a few beverages. Place is always clean. Tables are set. Very nice and cozy atmosphere. Delicious Italian food ... Perfect for date night or dinner with family during your special occasions. Went their for my Birthday with bunch of my friends & this place was totally amazing. Service was excellent & rich ambience. Price was reasonable for the quality. The street was light up & it was so magical night. In little Italy Preston street, parking is quite hard to find but to mention they have valet.

My favorite place in Ottawa. They have service nailed down to a tee. Extremely attentive staff, very knowledgeable, smily and cheerful, and absolutely know how to keep their patrons happy. The fantastic food is just the cherry on top. By the time we had walked away from our table they already had our valet ready and waiting for us outside.

I took my fiance here a few days ago, when a bunch of the ottawa senators players were also there. By far the best place to eat in the city I was recommended by a red seal chef to come to this beautiful place. I would give this 100 stars if I could. Truly never been so satisfied with food and service like I received here.

Great food and the little hand sanitizer gift bottles is a nice touch. Glad to be one of your first customers on re-opening night. Let's all follow the guidelines so fine restaurants like Giovanni's can remain open.

We went to Giovanni's and everything was perfect. We started with fried zucchini as a appetizers. I had a combo of manicotti, veal, and lasagna. My wife had Canneloni. Both were great and lots of food. Would order this again.

Never disappointed when we dine here - which is often. Best bang for your buck. Be sure to make reservations as it’s always ideal for how busy they are here. Definitely one of my top picks for Italian restaurants in Ottawa. Their entire team, from the minute you enter, their servers, and chef(s) are very genuinely welcoming. They’re take their time when going through the menu and are very detailed in explaining everything so you have a clear understanding of what you’re ordering, and they work very efficiently and consistently in ensuring that your food is tasting great and that you’re always taken care of. Love this restaurant, the outdoor 2 story patio is just awesome. Was there at reopening in july. Now I would usually give them 5 stars easy. This time unfortunately I must give them a 4 star, service was excellent, all the staff, from the valet at parking to the waiter, hostess and owner are always polite, kind and do all to please their clientele. Why 1 star less, well they changed the menu, and usually when we arrive, we always get warm bread, butter and small appetizers. This just didn't happen this time around. Had to wait till we ordered our food and had to ask for the bread and no appetizers were served other than the ones we ordered off the menu. I know these are small details.....but it always in these small details that make you appreciate fully a restaurant or just find it ordinary. And I know you can order specialties that are not on the menu but it is now a very light version of the old menu and miss that menu !

I have a mixed feelings about this restaurant... the service is good and waiters are all courteous and friendly. The only issue with my recent visit was the linguine that ordered (my favorite Italian pasta), of which the clam was so salty that I almost order them take back and redo it! Then I thought it's pandemic; nobody's life is easy... I ended up drank almost a whole bottle S. Pellegrino's 😀

Amazing Italian food, wonderful atmosphere, and excellent service. Our server Angelo was an absolute joy. He knew exactly what wine we would about with our meal and was a friendly addition to our evening. When dessert came, a sparkler accompanied the dish to help celebrate my father's birthday. The added free valet service was a refreshing touch. A bit pricey but the amazing food and classic Italian charm is definitely worth it. Will definitely enjoy this place again.

I had a Vitello Parmigiana, the veal is lightly breaded and top with cheese, very tender, the spaghetti is done just right, although the sauce is a bit too much for me. All in all it is a good dinner. Then why 3 stars? I did not have reservation, but it was early Thursday evening, the place was not busy and there were 3 single tables available. I was shown to the one next to the door, literally next to the entrance! I asked to be seated in another single table, he said it was reserved. I asked about the one next to the window, then he complied. But why was I given the worst seat in the whole place while there were choices. Is it because I am single so spending will be lower, or is it because I am a new customer, or is it because I am a minority. Restaurant is in hospitality business, this certainly does not feel hospitable.

Wonderful ambiance and service.Valet service was a plus in the busy Little Italy area.Full menu but no children's selections. Food was a bit undercooked and prices a bit high, but we'd most likely try it again.

We had our 18th wedding anniversary dinner date there. The ambience & staff were very polite & wished us for future happiness. Food was amazing, starters were delish & I was even served desert with fire cracker to depict celebration. Only thing that stood out for mews that based on covid guidelines, tables were set very closely from each other & back table guests literally bumped into my chair few times due to being so close. Over all will visit Giovanni again at our special days. Chef deserves a raise.

The food, service, management and decor were all exceptional! Elegant settings, attentive staff and the most wonderful food and drinks made the costs well worth it. Manny took wonderful care of our party of 6 and his recommendations were as good as he promised. I had the best lasagna I've tasted and my husband had the rack of lamb which was tender and delicious! I would highly recommend Giovanni's!

Amazing service! The staff was so attentive and friendly. We ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, the fettuccine Alfredo and the veal Parmigiana and the Tiramisu we all split for desert. All were yummy. Before tip our bill was $104 to get an idea of price range for a 3 person dinner with one beer and one capaccino. Very busy spot after 7pm, would recommend making reservations.

We came in from Montreal not really knowing what to expect from this restaurant and everything was fantastic. From our arrival to the second we left everyone treated us so nicely. Service was excellent from all the staff especially with our waiter Jarred. The food was delicious, very authentic Italian. We sat during the first service and they needed our table for the second service, Jarred kindly found us 2 seats at the bar where we could go finish our cocktails and we met Victoria & Stephanie ( the bartenders) who kept us there til the end cause we we’re having a blast. Very satisfied & will definitely be returning. Thank you guys for a great evening.

Delicious food including caesar salad not pictured. Priced higher than most places but you get what you pay for. Limited options for those who are vegetarian or only eat select meats or fish. Veal Marsala and manicotti photographed. Great outdoor holiday lights. Free valet was awesome as was the fact they took our bulky winter coats and scarves. Lovely staff

1st, I would like to thank all the staff at Giovanni for the amazing evening! This ristorante is one of my favorite! The Rockefeller Oysters were to die for! The vitello with cognac was simply perfect! One of the best wine selection in town. Their selection of grappa is out of this world and of course some of the most delicious Cannoli! Thank you guys! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. So wonderful. Incredible customer service, delicious food, amazing atmosphere. Our server spent so much time just chatting, giving us travel advice, and getting to know us. The meals were amazing and the desserts were quite literally magical. And then, to top it all off, our server snuck two eclairs into our to-go bag so we didn’t even know he’d done it until we got home (and enjoyed the surprise so much). This is a great date spot or celebration spot. We definitely wouldn’t go every week, it’s a perfect occasion spot (romantic, quiet, and pricy- but honestly an incredible value for what you get). Just go, it’s so worth it!

What an amazing place to eat, the staff were amazing, the owner walked up and said hello. The food is some of the best Italian I've ever had. Great bar and menu, staff are wearing masks and a good environment. Social distancing measures in effect.

Giovanni's is one of those italian restaurants that serves 4 courses and is heavily overpriced. I'm sure the food is great, but I didnt even have the chance to try it because everything was out of my budget. The only thing I did try was a dessert, which obviously was small and overpriced. It is a nice and elegant place in little Italy however, so if you can afford it and want someplace to celebrate a special occasion, I'm sure it's a great option!

Delicious take out order. We ordered the Parmigiana Di Melanzane, Spaghetti Alla Carbonara and a Canoli. Everything was very well prepared and so tasty. I would definitely recommend.

Great service and tasty food. The only negative was that I was charged $15 for water. This was more than I paid for a shared appetizer. I guess I am just used to water being a human right in Canada.
