Amazing! Dropped In while visiting family, ordered the pakoras which were absolutely phenomenal, some of the best I've ever had! The lasagna was good, warmed the soul. Our server Maddy was awesome! Super attentive, quick with our orders, and friendly. The atmosphere was super unique and inviting. I really enjoyed my stay! Would definitely eat here again, great spot

HIGHLY recommended. Wow! The food here is amazing! We had a large family so we tried many different dishes and they were all delicious. The balance of flavours is so well done and you can tell the igredients are very fresh. The flavour profile, mouthfeel, acidity, temperature.. everything is so well done! Kudos to the chef's and Calactus for selecting such a nice diverse menu and cooking it so well. And the price is perfect for what you get. The atmosphere inside is so nice and the service is so friendly. You can sense the positive energy here. When I come back to visit Moncton I know where I am going!

Really nice interior, very quaint and well laid out. See pic. Nice and busy which adds to the atmosphere and it shows how popular this place is (but it wasn't crowded which was good). An interesting menu of vegetarian and vegan meals. Home-cooked fresh food. Yummy!

Absolutely delicious food! Fresh. Nice selection. Kind staff with knowledge about the food served. Cozy, beautifully decorated environment and nicely presented food. I must go back again soon! :D is strongly recommend. Prices were very reasonable as well for what you get. I got a fresh fruit smoothie for $5. Where would you ever find that?

Got the Big Marc Burger and chocolate raspberry cream pie I was really hoping it was something like a big mac but no where close. Still the meal was really good. I was told everything can be made vegan and that's how I ordered it. The place was getting quite full by the time I left around 7pm. Parking is tight out front but there is a lot across the street, however it was pretty full when I left. Lots of reserved tables as well so you may want to call ahead

Great vegetarian restaurant for anyone who likes good quality food, whether you are vegetarian or not. I had the falafel flute and my friends had pizza with Cesar salad and an Indian dish of which I can't remember the name. Everything was fantastic. Our server was super friendly and the ambience was great. We are definitely going there more often from now on.

Good food, 3.5 stars/value. Certainly wasn't amazed but it was a tasty enough dinner. $4 for a pop is crazy and the spicy ginger ale was just terrible. The works pizza was good but it felt basic, enchiladas was good, the rice was so-so

This was a wonderful place to go. MY two best friends and I went because one of them is a vegetarian while we were in Moncton. Such a sweet, comfortable place! The staff were sweet, and the food was yum!!! There was something for all of us even if my friend and I weren't vegetarian. Great food opinions!!!

Very nice restaurant! The place gets really busy and there was a bit of a wait (about 15 minutes) but staff were friendly and food was delicious. They have deals of the day including 3 course meals. When we went we got the appetizer (pakoras - delicious!), half of a margherita pizza (okay), and a chocolate dessert (not bad). Very cozy atmosphere and will go back when we're back in New Brunswick!

I can't recommend this place more highly - everything was absolutely fantastic! The best vegetarian restaurant in Moncton. I really like the half salad, half pizza option. Great way to try to different menu items for a reasonable price. They always have such great, friendly service as well. Always feel welcome at Calactus. They are also great for takeout (see photo)

Fantastic food, drinks, atmosphere and service! Went here with a group, mostly non-vegetarians, everyone fully enjoyed their meal. I had the Taj Mahal Thali which was delicious and good portion. They make an EXCELLENT cappuccino, try it with the oat milk 👌 Try the blueberry beer as well, served with dozen blueberries in your glass; surprisingly delicious. Will definitely be visiting again the next time I’m in Moncton.

The "Big Marc Burger" - this restaurant's version of a veggie burger - is exceptionally good if you order it as just the patty and bun. While is doesn't taste anything close to a real patty, this isn't a bad thing - it is delicious and full of flavor, and tastes better than most real burgers I've ever had. The potatoes which came with it were delicious and perfectly cooked too. The food came within a reasonable time span and the service was adequate. The only major issue was that our server forgot to give us two of our drinks, likely due to it being a busy day - though these drinks weren't charged, so it wasn't a massive deal. I'm not a vegetarian or a vegan, but this restaurant is great even outside of that context. Easy recommendation.

This is a wonderful vegetarian restaurant, one of only two in Moncton. Everything on the menu can be easily veganized and all the desserts are vegan by default! Cosy with indoor and outdoor dining. Delicious meals too!

You do not have to be vegan or vegetarian to love this place! The menu has so many complete knock out dishes. The enchiladas are out of this world packed with flavour. Pakoras & chutney are simply the best! I can't say enough good about this place. The atmosphere inside & on that patio is very centered around nature which is so relaxing.

The food here is awesome. I always get the pizza but my family loves the lasagna and burger as well. The staff are friendly, the food comes within a good amount of time, and the food tastes the same every time I go. I haven't had a good drink here, but I haven't had a bad meal, which I think is more important.

The location was easy to find, there was a decent amount of parking, and while it was a little busy, we got in without a reservation in less than five minutes. The food was a little expensive, and was decently good... I had the veggie burger but it was missing something: pickles, or cucumbers, something crunchy to tie the whole thing together. Everything else tasted great. Service was good, with giving a 16% tip.

Absolutely adore this place. Fantastic zen atmosphere, complimented by incredible vegetarian food. I have the enchiladas and it was one of the best meals I have ever had the pleasure of eating! Usually I would not rave about rice of any kind, but this rice was exceptionally good. I highly recommend checking this place out if you are in the area. They also have a nice variety of beverages and friendly staff!

First review I have ever written in my 35 years. This places food quality just blew me away. I am not sure I have received this level of taste from a restaurant, in my life!!! My partner is from Calgary, and she has not experienced this level of quality since moving east. Also, the majority of the menu can be made gluten free, will be heading back for more!!!!

Lots of flavorful options on the menu and hot drink options. Fantastic chai latte! Always a daily special and soup of the day. Vegan friendly. Everything is tasty and nicely presented. Large heated area just outside of the main door. Staff is accommodating and service is made to order but quick. Extra parking available across the street. Take out available.

Had a great experience. Food was so filling and delicious. Ordered the enchiladas and the mushroom ravioli. They were really nicely flavored and portion size was good. Didn't like their salad though, was a bit too earthy and raw. I'm not even vegetarian but I was thoroughly impressed.

VNVV (Very Nice Vegan/Vegitarian). Food was delicious! Service was excellent. Price was quite reasonable, and atmosphere was comfortable. I had a 3 course special: green pea soup, enchiladas, and a brownie. Server recommended the local pump house blueberry ale which was also fantastic. $30.

This is one of the best vegetarian joints I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. The service was fast, friendly, and efficient. The food was good, hearty, healthy, and full of flavour. The restaurant itself is warm and inviting. After several days of greasy road food this place was the tonic I needed. I can vouch for the refreshing smoothies... and the variety of menu choices. You won't regret eating here.

I loved this place, the decor is relaxing and the food is great. It was really crowed when we got there but it took only a few minutes to get a place. Service was good. I tried the veggie burger, which was a good choice : full of textures and flavours. I just which it was written on the menu that there is mustard in it.. Not my favorite condiment. The location - downtown - is perfect to go for a walk before of after dinner.

This place is honestly incredible. Every single time I go, the food blows me away. You would never be able to tell that their food is vegetarian or vegan, because of how delicious their food is. What a gem. My vegan wife was super happy with all the choices. Service was quick, the atmosphere warm and intimate and the food was excellent. Very diverse menu with plenty of options for non-Veggie types (like me). And great deserts. Full wine / beer menu. The place was filled with locals on a weeknight... always a good sign.

Just rolled into town and came across this cool place. The servers were total sweethearts. They helped me find a gift shop while my food was being prepared. Went there for burger week, the burger itself was okay, my partner got the pizza and it was very good. We got nachos to share, they were just okay. The service was friendly. Visited this cozy restaurant after ten days on the road in eastern Canada, in and out of hotel, motels and restaurants. It was perfect! Vegetarian fare that meets the needs of even the fussiest eater! They can prepare almost anything on the menu gluten friendly (I don’t have celiac, but am gluten sensitive), so that was most appreciated. I had the burrito, and it was light enough after all the heavy food I’ve been eating, but still filling. The wine was tasty and they even have GF beer! Friendliest staff, and a very ‘homey’ atmosphere. Highly recommended, even if you aren’t a vegetarian. :)

Calactus is one of the best Vegetarian/Vegan restaurant. The food is delicious with reasonable prices. Staff is very friendly and professional, I really enjoyed this place and would recommend for a healthy vegetarian and vegan meal. Reservations are accepted only before 6 p.m. later on first come first serve. Good luck!

Excellent vegetarian food! I got an appetizer and salad which ended up being more than enough food for dinner! The house made hummus and flatbread was especially delicious. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I will definitely be coming back to try other items on the menu!

The enchilada is the best item on the menu! My mother always got the Big Marc Burger, until she tried my enchilada. There are so many different flavors and it is very filling! The deserts are very good too! Beautiful restaurant as well with a wire mesh patio to stop bugs but still feel like you're outside!

This is a delicious restaurant!!! Our food was fabulous and so was the service. All desserts are vegan, which was nice as I don't eat dairy. Lots of gluten-free options as well on the menu. I highly recommend you eat here!! Prices are decent. Wish I didn't live 2000 km away.

Phenomenal service - we were totally accommodated from the get-go! We thoroughly enjoyed the mixed Indian dishes (taj mahal thali) with the awesome side sauces, and the vegan version of their works pizza (the herbed tofu cream was divine, we totally dug it). We hummed and hawed about desserts because we couldn't decide between two options...well our server got half portions of each and charged us for a single one - over and above is how we would describe it! Fantastic all around, we can't wait to get back!

This is an excellent vegetarian restaurant. Excellent food, even appealing to a carnivore like me! Service is excellent but the waits can be long for food. Prices can be a bit high considering there is no meat involved and meat is the most expensive part of cooking.

Soooo good. Great service and food. Also not too expensive for such a great dining experience. Went with someone who wasn't keen on eating at a vegetarian restaurant however, they enjoyed Calactus thoroughly. (Was one of their top dining experiences during their two week maritime vacation.. was top Moncton dining experience for them for sure. )

This is the best restaurant in Moncton. The food is amazing, I have tasted pretty well everything in the restaurant and I can't say there is anything I did not like. The selection of alcohol is good, they can accomodate many food restrictions and the meat lovers won't feel deprived. I recommend the Enchilada or Big Marc Burger with a blueberry beer. Enjoy!

Calactus is an interesting restaurant, we're very lucky to have it in Moncton. They have a really nice array of vegetarian dishes (and almost all can be made Vegan) which is a bit of a rarity in the area. That said, as a meat eater, I still really like this restaurant. The dishes are well put together, and very tasty. For the most part, you won't even miss the meat. I would recommend the Spinach Pesto pizza, the Lasagna, and the Taj Mahal Thali. They lose a star not on the food, but because the service can be slow if it's busy. That said, most of the time the service has been great, so on the whole I can't complain. I would certainly recommend checking it out, it's a unique spot, the prices are quite good, and the food is high quality.

The pakoras were to die for, I haven't disliked any of my meals there so far. When I first heard about the place from my mother I was concerned it would be a hippie pit; boy was I wrong. The atmosphere Calactus really is nice and welcoming and it was nothing like I judged it to be. Do yourself a favour and don't be like me and let your preconceived notions of a "vegetarian" place make you try to avoid it.
