We were not made aware that the fries were being charged additionally. The portion for the lobster roll was small, not worth the money. The burgers were good and had interesting flavours.

I showed up at 9:30 when they close at 10. My friend and I ordered a steak each. It came out perfect, best steak I've ever had actually! The service we received was amazing to top it off!!

Stumbled upon this diner/pub while looking for a place to brunch. Wouldn't call it mind blowing but a solid place with a nice family atmosphere and decent food. The staff were fast and polite. I would suggest this for sure for a Sunday breakfast etc but can't speak to what is like at night. When I was there the sign outside appeared to need to be repaired. That could be fixed.

It is a hidden gem my friends and ask for there signature dish. Kettle chips amazing. Fries of course New Brunswick with the burger amazing. To my surprise ask for an order of pickles the best I have had for quite a while. We had the holy smoke burger. Darcy was amazing server I mean very friendly, energetic and makes sure you get the best experience. All in all we had a great experience for a Monday night in Fredericton my friends. Now we will miss the hilltop and Darcy. Chuck and Rick from Ottawa Ontario.

We visited for the first time tonight and it was the coolest pub we’ve been to on our road trip so far! The food was great and the staff was extremely accommodating. We especially loved our server, Darcy - she made really fantastic beer recommendations and even after a long, busy shift made our experience really fun and personalized. Darcy and the blonde behind the bar (sorry I didn’t get your name!) handled a difficult, last-minute table of 6 like pros. We will make a point of coming back here to visit the staff the next time we are passing through.

While in Fredericton today we stopped into the Hilltop for a late lunch. The food was delicious...Lobster Roll with Caesar Salad and Prime Rib French Dip Sandwich with Fries!!! 👍👍😋 We also enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, the music and the wonderful service we received from Melody!!! 😊

Four for dinner, we were all very hungry so it felt a little slow but it was worth the wait. Food was delicious, everyone enjoyed. Server was friendly and checked back twice to make sure everything was good.

Great food and friendly staff, but service is painfully slow. Be prepared to wait to be seated and wait for your food. You'll spend at least 90 minutes here for an evening meal. They don't serve minors for food unless accompanied by an adult, something to do with the liquor license.

We went with a party of 8. We were all very satisfied with the food. It's sad because I have lived in Fredericton my whole and only eaten there for the first time now. The wings are out of this world. They make great drinks. The server was very kind and we got out food in a timely manner. The only disappointment was that they no longer serve the deep fried ice cream, but they still get five stars from me.

We went there for lunch on May 20th 2021. The service was excellent. The waitress was very friendly. The food was served in a timely manner but the quality was really just ok. I had wings as a starter and found them a bit greasy. The dipping sauce was good. I tried a burger with sweet potato fries and, while it tasted fine, there wasn't really anything exceptional about it. My wife tried the steak with garlic mashed potatoes and she found it very ordinary. For a little over $70 (including 2 sodas), I found it a little pricey for the level of quality. I'd still recommend The Hilltop.

Wow! Server Nathan went above and beyond. Just watched this champ deal with the most annoying customers in the world and he was pleasant, friendly and did an amazing job. If this place hires guys like Nathan I'll be back 😁

Earlier this evening my family and I stopped in after a 6.5 hr drive in from QC. The service was remarkable. My two small girls were entertained by staff and were allowed to wander and play in restaurant’s London styled phone booth. Wings and beer were top notch and the girls were given hats to boot!

Wasn't wowed by anything here, except the interesting belt system for their circulating fans. Burger was just fair and the sweet potato fries weren't properly cooked and the portion was meager at best. The amount shown in the photo was the amount served. Dipping sauce served with wasn't great.

I had the hilltop poutine, it had Gouda and mushrooms in it, IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! Definitely recommend trying it and just eating at hilltop in general. Took a little time to get our food, but nothing too extreme, plus it let our chicken wings settle before main meal

It was pretty good, but I do have a couple of complaints. First, there was a screaming child near us, so that put a damper on things, the fact that the child was mine made it much worse. Secondly, the burgers on the menu, they don't include a side...you want fries, it's an extra $2.99. I'm not totally sure why it bothers me so much. The food tasted excellent.

They updated the interior so it looks pretty modern now. I've always liked the hilltop, I think they've always had good food. Every time I come here I get the burgers because I think they're really solid. I've had lots of app's, a lobster pasta thing, and other stuff and it's all been pretty good.

Came to eat on a Wednesday. Pulled in because the parking lot was packed, figured the food must be ok. The food was fine. Kevin from the bar is the reason this place gets a 4 because based on food alone, from my experience, it's a 3. He went above and beyond and deserves a mention.

My spouse and I were at the newly renovated Hilltop on August 22 for supper. I had the haddock and my spouse had the seafood pasta. We were very satisfied! Super tasty. Cooked to perfection! We seem to have bad luck at restaurants, and I never make the effort to write a review! We were happy with the atmosphere, the great service (thanks Aaron!) and definitely the food was the highlight! Thank you to the chef, cooks and kitchen staff 🙂. (Ps, my coworkers and myself had lunch at the Hilltop the week before and we were all happy customers!). Thank you!

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Food is normally good; however last meal was very salty. I was hungry so I ate most of it and when I told the waiter I was given a discount. I am sure that if I said something immediately I would have gotten another steak that was better prepared. I have eaten there a lot and it is not common place to have a bad meal. I would certainly go back again.

The Hilltop is like a cat - I’m sure it’s on its 7th or 8th life by now. I was reluctant to go because previous experiences were meh, and the interior was dated and dark. I went last week a friend and I was pleased to see the updates they have made to the interior. I had the steak salad and my friend had the Salmon poke bowl. Both were delicious. I would go back again any day.

Husband and I had lobster roll, smoked meat sandwich, both with kettle chips. Good portions and tasty. Waitress was friendly and took neccessary precautions, mask and tracing for covid-19. Would try this place again.

It has been along time since we visited The Hill Top. Not sure why. We have been missing out on great place to eat. We received our food fast and and it was hot, like it should be. Only complaint was my husband requested his fries cooked crispy. They were not. I thought they were good but I know what he means by crispy. Definitely going back.

Open during Orange Phase! We went for supper, and all rules for sanitization and social distancing were in place. The food was incredible and the beer was ice cold! McDonalds and Walmart will survive this pandemic but places like this really need our business. Thanks again!

Went here for supper with a friend and the food was great! Our server was pretty good as well. He mixed us up and set down the food in opposite spots but we all have our days and there's nothing wrong with that! Definitely recommend

I ordered via Skip The Dishes, so I can't comment on the restaurant itself - just the food. I ordered two lobster rolls. They took a full hour to arrive even though I pre-ordered for when they opened; the food did not look like it would take an hour to make and get to me. When I bit into it, the lobster was decent - but cold (I don't know if that's how they serve it at this restaurant). It was not terribly filling either, and for nearly $40 between tax, the food itself, and delivery, I'm not impressed. With that said, the actual food was decent and I'm sure it'd be great if you got it fresh from the restaurant.

This place is much nicer than it's outside appearance. The food is affordable and great quality. The spicy food is spicy, the vegetables and produce is fresh and cooked excellently, the menu is broad from pub grub to foriegn fusion to full proper dinners. The decor is fun and relaxed, the staff is friendly and helpful and the prices are reasonable. A great selection of drinks as well.

The service was very good. Of food was generous. The steak was over-cooked, I asked for medium - rare and most of the steak was light brown. Very little pink. Next time I will order rare, and then I will give them 5 stars. Their house cab was very nice. Overall I was happy.

Everytime i go their service is awesome and the servers are very attractive. The food on the other hand, not the greatest. The last two visits my food has been WAY too salty. It was very hard to tell if the food had any actual flavor. I feel like i would of shriveled up if not for the servers refilling my water (clearly exaggerating but still). The Hilltop is a Fredericton classic. Same single-belt-for-the-room fans they had in 1980. Wow. Pretty good selection of beers. Had fish and chips. Wasn't from the gourmet cookbook - but - was competent fish and chips. Staff was courteous and engaging. Took time to chat with me about Fredericton, changes, changes in the Hilltop and the general scene. Go. You won't be disappointed.

Worth the stop/detour off thr main highway. Staff were down to earth and friendly. We had the Wings and a Spinach Salad and Blue Cheese Wedge Salad, which were all amazing! Surprisingly great salad choices for a pub type place. We will definitely stop here the next time we pass through Fredricton!

I like to take the family here whenever were in Fredericton for a lunch or dinner. The staff is always great, food is good and there is a ton of decor. I'm not sure how long it has been a pub but I'm sure it will be for years to come.

A Fredericton downtown institution. Reputed to have the best scotch selection east of Montreal. I've been going for over 20 years. Food quality and service has dropped in the past few years but still a good place to meet peeps on a Friday night for a quick drink if you are going to be downtown.
