Great local spot, delicious food that is very reasonably priced! Great for families or couples. Would definitely recommend.

Really amazing food…I very much prefer vegetarian so I’m glad that they had quite a few options. Unlike most other Italian restaurant the more expensive it gets the more seafood there is. They are super quick for service. My family had to catch a flight so our food was brought out within 10min of ordering. There is parking behind the building but also on the street beside it.

Great service and delicious food. We really enjoyed the brussel sprouts... coming from someone that generally doesn't like them. The spaghetti and meat balls were also very good - plenty of flavour, nicely seasoned and the pasta was perfectly al dente.

This place is cute as can be with an overall Italian theme. My partner and I wandered in to warm up and get a snack on boxing. We were not disappointed. The salads were freshly made and the bread still warm from the oven. I had a Chai Tea from the cafe that was perfectly brewed. We watched the traffic go by almost certainly to boxing day shopping from our cozy spot by the window in the sunshine. The perfect spot for a break, a bite, or to grab that special something for dinner on the way home.

One of my favourite Italian restaurants in Calgary! My go-to menu is Hot Sicilian Spaghetti🌶 Great to check out cafe as well! Variety coffee menu ( I’m a latte person☕️)

A very nice place that I’ve driven by many times and not realized it was there. The food was really good overall. The popcorn was amazing. The salad was very tasty. I would say the pizza we got (lobster) wasn’t as good as we thought but to be fair, I think we were expecting something different. The risotto was great. I would definitely come back and try the other items.

My first time here and what perfect timing for the $20 for a pint and pizza. The restaurant is super hip and trendy but don’t let the looks fool you, the food is amazing. My friend and I ordered different pizzas and split them. So good and tasty, they are traditional oven fired Italian style. They make all their own fresh pasta so looks like I need to make a return visit. The service was super prompt, friendly and helpful. The restaurant is attached to their fresh market and deli also. Would be a great place to come back and check out the market.

Had a pretty good time here. Rest of the fam enjoyed pasta, I had iceberg and steak salad. When all was said and done we stepped into the market side for some coffee and cannelloni. Big hit. We will be back for sure

Attended the Sauce Social Hour cooking class and learnt how to make pizza dough and different pizza! Would definitely recommend this place for couples, families, or just dining in- so many dinner options and be sure to try the cannolis they have over 10 different flavours!

Sauce is a wonderful locally-owned restaurant, deli and market for authentic Italian cuisine. They have a great variety of gluten free options and the service is always exceptional.

Service was ok but could have been better the food was alright but I thought it was expensive for what we got. We went for lunch and for 3 entrees and a kids meal came to $70. The pizza wasn’t as thin as other thin crust pizza at other yyc shops. The chicken flatbread/sandwich was alright but didn’t enjoy the garlic aioli/pesto spread. The dressing for the salad was delicious though. Will go back to shop the little Italian shop they have and may try the deli, but don’t think I’ll be back for the restaurant.

The best coffee we have found in Calgary! The people in the cafe know how how to make excellent espresso and other coffee drinks. The bakery is outstanding, can't beat the deserts they offer. Super staff!!

We go here often for lunch on Wine Wednesdays (half-priced bottles of wine). The food is great and the service is good. I'm disappointed they took the ravioli off the lunch menu, but I'm hopeful it will be back. I appreciate they change up the menu once in a while.

First time visit as we are new to the area. We WILL be going back. The service was fantastic despite it being a busy Sunday evening. The Nojito's are deliscious if you are looking for a non-alcholic drink. The brushetta is a MUST HAVE and the roast chicken dinner was amazing as well.

I continue to always come back to the sauce because of the amazing people who work there. The food is absolutely incredible and having staff that are extremely knowledgeable and friendly make for a unique dining experience. LANA always comes by the table and the entire staff work together as team which is why it’s so great. The food never disappoints and it’s a well decorated, fun atmosphere!!

There is food variety, their desserts look splendid! .They have a strong mexican influence, because they support local mexican businesses ( how they get their chips, guacamole). They have a section dedicated to ready to go food that looks fresh. They even sell pizza dough! The staff is nice and responsive.

Giving three stars because although there is nothing bad about the restaurant, it's not extraordinary. I've heard their coffee is very good but have not tried it. The service was definitely very good. Our server was very attentive and knew the menu well. Portions are modest. There wasn't anything negative in particular about the restaurant.

Sauce has some of the best desserts in the city. Their coffee is also exceptional. I recommend the coffee named "patricia." Probably the best coffee I have ever had and it's one of the few coffee brews I drink at home now. The brownies and other squares and muffins they sell are also very good. I have never been disappointed. I'm sure the restaurant lives up to the same standards as their bakery.

Sauce is a great spot with friendly staff. The ladies working there were accommodating, helpful and super kind. The truffle popcorn is amazing! Quite disappointed with the takeaway lasagna however, as it ended up just being a soupy dish of 90% cheese, 5% pasta and 5% meat. Will come back and try other things likely but the lasagna was a miss for me.

A nice Italian market on 17th Ave. It is not much of a market compared to Lina's or other places. But they do their own baking and there is a nice place to sit down and eat as well as a restaurant. I like going there to pick up a sandwich for lunch (like the muffuletta). There is 30 minutes parking in front on 17th which is very convenient for doing this!

Google decided not to post it. 3/5 Easy to find - parking on street Atmosphere, Nice Waited awhile before being served/seated Staff - nice overall My server made some less than favourable implications that greatly offended myself and my partner. We decided to make the best of our night. The food - I had Spaghetti and meatballs, amazing My partner had Steak pasta - drowned in balsamic Steak rare, asked for medium Sent the meal back Ordered spaghetti - at this point we were both displeased. Took our meals to go. Emailed store to inform of poor experience and asked about nutrition facts. None available. Owner was emailing me back - asked me to explain my experience. I told her I would rather post on google as I felt she could not assist me. Through the conversation I felt like I was being belittled, she assured me otherwise. I don’t think we’ll ever come back - when many small things go wrong it ruins the overall experience

My husband and I came here for lunch a couple of weeks ago and were very underwhelmed. We were sat at a table with a flickering light (our server actually mentioned that nobody likes sitting in that spot)service was not great, the food was beautiful, but overpriced and bland. Lastly, the chef was not wearing a mask which made us a little nervous (I think it is recommended for COVID safety). The ambiance was nice other than the light problem. The overall experience was okay but not anything special. Hope my review helps the business make for a better restaurant. Some of the review replies seem a little bit unprofessional as well.

Had a pineapple mojito sipper and chats with a friend who has been raving about this place. Also bought a loaf of parmesan bread... I couldn't resist! It was divine. Will absolutely be returning. They also hold cooking classes.. all types of food! Lovely place.

Went years ago and had a meatball sandwich. I think it was 2 meatballs sliced up to fill the sandwich, so seriously lacking in quantity and quality. Flavors were just OK. Had some pizza from Sauce more recently and the flavors were pretty good. But the crust was pretty dry and crispy, and that was disappointing. Again, just OK.

Whatever your dinner plans are, just cancel them and eat here instead! Sauce is amazing. Aside from their amazing restaurant menu, their cafe treats are out of this world (I don't think I've ever been able to walk in and NOT buy a salted caramel shortbread treat).

We ordered about $100 for takeout, as Covid rules were tightened up. The order was accurate. Although the food was good, the portions were very small. We had four pasta dishes and a few pizzas, the pasta servings were too small for people to actually share. For example, the carbonara was probably served with half the pasta I would have expected. Mind you this was not a half order or anything. I would have expected as well maybe some bread to accompany our order, but there was nothing. These little things make a big difference and would make me think twice about ordering again, or eating in when restaurants open again.

I so admire Jenna and all her staff for providing great food and libations to their customers through the on-going pandemic. Jenna and her staff are always adding new innovations to their menu, special occasion treats and gift baskets and do it with a smile. Can't wait to dine in again but in the meantime will continue to enjoy the fantastic calamari and Caesar salad as takeout. And look forward to my next pomegranate martini. Thanks everyone. We discovered Sauce because of the YYC Hot Chocolate Fest and I’m sure glad we did. Our server was friendly and attentive. We had the bruschetta trio appetizer and loved it. Our dinners were equally delicious. And the hot chocolate was amazing. We had a chat with the owner on the way out and found out the canolli recipe was from her mom. And they were excellent! We’ll be back!

Phenomenal! We called in at 4 pm to order and was told they were so busy, they were only able to make our meal at 645 pm. It was delivered at 6:50 PM. It came hot, fresh, and delicious! I feel like the portions were a little smaller than in store but not enough to change my review. I don't usually give 5 stars but the service, organization, and flavours were fantastic. I would recommend their Carbonara and Clams Linguini.

The Sauce Cafe is great to stop in, they have a limited about of food to grab and go. Mostly white bread classic sandwiches and make your own pizza at home ingredients. They do have a great selection of Scharr gluten free products and lots of chips and crackers for purchase. The cannolis are great, I would recommend the skor, and they have regular and gluten free scones and brownies. They also have a seasonally rotating coffee and specialty drink menu which always has some fun flavours to try!

The table was perfect, the food was reasonable and delicious and the server was wonderful! I would recommend this restaurant for large or small groups! Even the washrooms were very nice and clean and decorated! They take reservations for 6 or more! And there is plenty of free parking close by! One of my very favourite treats.. cannoli, and Sauce does them quite nicely! A huge selection of choices from raspberry lemon, baileys, peanut butter and more!

I think you have some scummy people trying to bring you down in these comments, they seem unjustified and rude, when im able too i am definitely coming to try your food! Peas and cream carbonara sound delicious to me name one place that dose not substitute cream for eggs that are not like 50$ a plate plus it would be like wall paper by the time you get it home what dummies! If you like crispy cannolis here is the place to go! I’ve had bad cannoli experiences where you purchase it and the cannolis are soggy. Wait no more.. this place pipes em fresh 3 times a day! You’re guaranteed to get a fresh and crispy cannoli. 5/5 for their cannolis! I also purchased their Date Cake, covered with shredded pistachios, raspberry and coconut. That cake however was WAYYYY too sweet.. the whole thing was covered in syrup. Would rate that 1/5. You can definitely pass on the Date Cake. I almost gave myself diabetes eating that cake. 😕

Had lunch here yesterday. Everything was great until I got a large bite of rocks. It's somewhat to be expected when you're having clams...but set me off a bit. Not something fun to grind your teeth on. Other than that issue everything was delicious and comfortable.

I am going to be very honest, I am pleasantly surprised about this place. I have seen this location switch over to many different restaurants, so I didn't know how this place would be. It was awesome! The staff was great and so attentive. The food was just wonderful, the pizzas are perfection. Also, go on Wednesdays, it is half off bottles of wine and you can take it home if you don't finish it! Will 10000 percent be back.

Went in there Friday night, it was around 8:20 and the lady told us it was too late to sit in the restaurant...bummer...so we ordered a Tuscan Sunrise and cappuccino while we waited for a rice crispy and a Gnocchi pasta. The food came out about 20 minutes later and we were told the rice crispies were no where to be found...it was kind of weird...overall though the service was good and the gnocchi was delicious 😋

Great short rib tacos, highly crave.....able Parmesan taco shells, yummmmm Good wine list and the best Cannolis in Western Canada. Stop by on the way home and use their grab and go, or for a romantic Eve, grab a bag of their Truffle Popcorn and crush a bottle of Prosecco.

I had our anniversary party catered by Sauce and it was INCREDIBLE. I feel like I got way more food than I had expected, loved that it came with warmers, and all of my guests were raving about how delicious everything was! I got the lasagna, cannelloni, chicken and artichoke penne, pasta primavera, beet salad and kale salad. Also had to get the truffle popcorn because it is the BEST! Yum yum yum. My guests kept asking where the food was from and I had no problem recommending this amazing place!!

I like that it's local deli, with reasonable prices. Update: Tonight was a wonderful example of excellent customer service. My wife and I went out with our baby with a reservation of 8pm (after feeding so we could time her sleep during the meal). When we got there, it was packed to the brim (which is great, because we love to see local businesses thrive). Unfortunately, the kitchen was so far behind that we had to wait for an hour before we got out meal. The manager, and server took ownership of the issue - and made it up to us. We really appreciate that they realized that the wait was unreasonable - but handled it perfectly. This type of service breeds loyalty. Great work Sauce!

We tried some pastas from the lunch menu. They were excellently prepared and very flavorful. The meal came quite quickly. The ambience, service and price were all very good. There is free 2-hour parking across the street. I recommend this restaurant for a great quick lunch.

I want to be excited about this place, a perfect little market idea and restaurant in my community. A much needed "spot" in this part of town. However I've been here twice and the product quality has yet to impress. I had hoped they would make a fresh sandwich but was told to buy a packaged one - which was bland, simple, and not worth $8.00 (Subway wins if I want a simple sandwich for $8.00). Dirty tables and messy washrooms. A wise man told me once (established restauranteur) that messyness is a sign the staff doesn't care. It's a great location, but the vibe and product won't bring me back.

Modern Italian cuisine. Food and service were excellent. Menu was a nice blend of classic Italian and new ideas, such as calamari served in seared bell peppers. Wine selection had a good selection going from $35 to $90 per bottle. Higher end on the price range but not overpriced for what you get.

Dinner was delicious. We tried the pork trio and the need tenderloin. The pork belly was really soft and well cooked. The service was great. Very polite, discreet in a good was and present when we need it. On the other hand the hostess was a very different story. My wife and I went their with our baby in a stroller ( I told them on the phone before) and the hostess when straight to the table without helping to clear the path. She was just looking at us.

Good service, and the apps were good. Each of our mains had liittle things that were lacking though (dinner menu). My pasta was good, but had breaded shrimp that seemed cheap and like a frozen food product. The short rib my wife had was very tasty, but came with a mashed potato mixture that was very small and way too runny. I liked the atmosphere, and have heard the lunches are better. I think I will give them some time and try again, as the potential is definitely there. I also like that you can pick up sauces, breads, etc. From the shop while you are there.

I went here with my mom, aunts and grandpa for lunch. Since it was Monday we got the $14 pasta. I really enjoyed my pasta and my dessert of London fog (earl grey) pancotta was really good too. I noticed they had a cafe, deli and bakery. I'll have to come back to look over it.

Meatballs were good but the tomato sauce was spectacular. Got short rib ragu, short rib, spicy Italian pizza and it was all excellent.

Cauliflower puttanesca is delicious. Our whole party enjoyed their entrees: spaghetti Bolognese, limone linguine ricotta, Sicilian spaghetti all delicious. The lemon ginger spritz cocktail was a little on sweet side. The ginger mojito was very yummy. Service was great 👍

Very consistent pasta dishes. El dente and properly flavoured. Not excessively oiled. Most waitresses are helpful and attentive though an occasional one might benefit from a refresher customer service course. The Antipas quattro has always been great. Coffee could be like warm if you do not insist.Overall very good a bristro.

The food was good. We tried the truffle butter popcorn and it was good. Rich but good. I ordered chicken parmigiana. On Mondays they have half off pasta so that was good. The food took a long time to get to us though so if you're in a rush, I don't recommend this place.

Got a family meal to bake at home. Penne w/Tom sauce and meatballs- was really good. Took home a couple little pizza packs(a fresh dough,some cheese, and some sauce). Cooked them tonite in a 500° oven and the crust was really nice and chewy/puffy. Would go again. Bought but haven't tried the Alfredo sauce yet. Looks good tho

Excellent Italian restaurant and market. $10 pastas for lunch in a very luxurious setting make this place a winner. All pasta and sauces are made in house. Delicious soups crafted from leftover bits from the kitchen are to die for. This level of quality for the price simply cannot be beat. Sauce also has delicious pizzas, a deli, grocery and bake/coffee shop all in one location. Apparently the women's washroom is one of the top five in the country. I went in the mens, which was very well appointed, but is supposedly nothing compared to the ladies room. Attention to detail sets this place apart and you will be shocked that such a nice place can afford to offer such reasonable pricing. Do yourself a favor and give sauce a try. Reservations recommended.

Food is amazing and the service is awesome here! Every time I've been I've been impressed with their consistency, not to mention their ability to change up menu items. The only doing against them is the lack of dedicated parking in the area as it's limited to Street parking mostly.

Only been here once but I thought it was really good price. $10 pastas they all were $10 that's a good price when compared to most places. My wife and I both had a pasta an appetizer, a beer, and a special coffee and our bill was only $35 that's the cheapest I have seen in a while. I can't wait to go back and eat more.

I found the parking to be a challenge. When we first sat down, the Server brought 4 glasses of water to the table, even though The water was warm with no ice at all. I was the only person at the table, so only 1 glass (with ice) should have bern brought.The rest of the guests arrived within 1/2 hour and we all drank warm water until I had it removed and repoured with ice, by the Seating Hostess. One of our guests had finished half her meal before her garlic bread arrived.

I've been looking forward to trying Sauce for some time and finally had the opportunity to have lunch there today. I was surprised to see all they had to offer with a lovely store and restaurant. The bakery section alone with the array of cannolis and macarons has given me reason to return. My lunch companions and I each ordered a different pasta to try and they were all delicious, perfectly prepared and a great deal at only $10 each. I chatted with several staff members throughout and everyone was very pleasant and helpful. I'm looking forward to returning with my family.

The positives are the arancini balls and carrot cannoli which were amazing. Everything else was meh. First theres hardly any parking but the prices are the same as a downtown restaurant. The service was poor and I think that ruins the whole experience. I ordered the short rib pasta and I thought that for $23 there would be some meat chunks in there but if I wasnt the one who ordered it I would have thought it to be just plan red sauce. No fresh parmesan offered. My friends ordered the pizza and didn't finish and didn't take it home so that should indicate how mediocre it was. Would not go out of my way to visit again.

I went for YYC Hot Chocolate Fest 2020. The seating area was very cosy and the place smelled AMAZING. I ordered the Nanaimo Bar Hot Chocolate and hazelnut cannoli. The hot choco was best once all the toppings melted into the drink. The cannoli was tasty, but the hazelnut/Nutella flavour was very weak. Not a bad price for either item. I want to try more of the cannolis to see about more flavors.

We frequent this place every couple of weeks and the variety is fantastic. You can enjoy a homemade sandwich in the deli if you are short on time, an afternoon snack or coffee from the cafe (awesome baked goods) or a great dinner and night out in the restaurant. It is perfect when the wife is looking for something romantic and I don't want to miss the game. The 2 tvs don't stand out and give us the best of both worlds. We recently hosted a party in the front room and it couldn't have been any better. Huge thank you to Jenna and the entire staff at Sauce. Of all the times we have been, only once was there ever a small mistake and it was corrected without question right away. Quality food and fantastic customer service is tough to find these days, both of which you will receive at Sauce Italian Market.

As a group we had high hopes coming into this place. Two people had the Arctic char and it was wonderful, tasty rice and vegetables included.The people with the pasta dishes said their dishes was really good as well. One of the ladies had the Caesar salad followed by bruschetta. And it was extremely salty so she sent it back and exchange it for the meatballs which were really good. I had the Cornish game hen which was well spiced but it was tough and had an overly gamey flavor for a Cornish hen. The ladies were surprised that the wine was so expensive. Surprisingly they do not offer cannoli in the restaurant but they do sell it in the lobby at the deli counter.

Amazing pasta! Went on a Monday to their pasta night ($12) and my partner and I were blown away. He got the clam linguine diablo and I got the chicken artichoke penne, both of which were phenomenal. A rosemary bread, 2 pastas, a Caesar and a San Pellegrino came to $40. The quality far outweighs the price. Make a reservation though as they were already full and were expecting reservations at 5:30 and on a Monday. Even stopped by their little shop and got some dessert to take home (also ridiculously amazing). Can't wait to go back and try more of their pasta menu!

Sauce is my favourite option to have around the corner for breakfast, coffee, lunch - and I can't wait to come back and try dinner! A friend had her party catered back in March and the kale caesar salad was ABSOLUTELY incredible. So incredible, that I haven't stopped talking or thinking about it since. I even ate some today with my breakfast LOL. If you want to change your life forever and crave kale for weeks on end, try it. Breakfast bowls, wraps, lunch sandwiches are also so tasty and filling. I drive by this place many days and I thought I would stop in to try it today. Nice little market. I had wanted a banana but since they didn't have one I tried the ham Dijon and egg sandwich. It did not look very appetizing. They didn't describe it very well cause it was so amazing! The bread was like a brioche. So tender! Fresh and toasted. Impessed. My Americano was great. So good! The deli has fresh made to order sandwiches and paninis, the bakery has all sorts of cakes and tarts and cannoli, there is espresso, a tiny market and cafe, AND a restaurant. It really has it all for an afternoon lunch, coffee, or just a snack. Really tasty food and baked goods. I haven't actually tried the restaurant yet.

I find most items are quite reasonably priced compared to other gourmet markets. The items that I find are good quality and value here are: bread, some baked good, salads, deli meat, and pizza dough. The cannolis are the best here! Highly recommend. I've had cannolis in New York and they are better here. PRO TIO: They have a pasta special during certain times and days. You can get pastas from their normal menu for cheaper. The carbonara and chicken Parm is really good.

Sauce is my new favourite café in Calgary. The staff are all absolutely wonderful and know me by name after just a couple of weeks. Every day there are different sandwiches/paninis, salads and soup of the day which you can combine to make combos. That's what I always do and I've yet to try something I don't like. My favourite so far is the chicken, apple and brie panini. It's to die for. Speaking of which, the bakery side is amazing. Some of the best coffee I've ever had and an assortment of baked goods, including housemade cannolis in about a dozen different flavours. I can't wait to indulge in one (so much for cutting sugar out of my diet!). If you're in the neighbourhood, this is a great little spot for a quality bite to eat, run by lovely, hard-working Calgarians. Proud to support this great local shop.

Bakery meant to be morning thing! Guys, you should do something about it. Any place you go, fresh pastries since 7 am.I was so surprised and disappointed! Stuff from the market cannot deal with more than one customer. 3 ppl from stuff and 1 customer at the till, so no attention to others, short cold answers. They are improving for sure. But still the Baristas have to learn to make proper Americanos and Macchiatos...there's do not have enough crema - they should just go to analog or P&S and try to mimic theirs.
