My favourite place for AYCE sushi! Can’t wait to have dinner in house again. The staff is pretty good for the most part, we do have our favourite servers that go the extra mile to be pleasant and accommodating. The atmosphere in there is lovely albeit a bit chaotic and loud at times. Love the Rock and Roll Sushi and the octopus tentacles!

Went here for my birthday dinner and it was so great. The service was quick and friendly. The food was excellent. There are lots of options for those that don't care for sushi. A little on the pricey side but that's typical with seafood.

This place is great! Sushi is not the best ever (too much rice) but decent enough and the sashimi is good and they have some great side dishes! I loved the calamari, fried scallop, octopus tentacles, and custard buns with green tea on the side! Also, unfortunately, some items that were on the website menu were not available to order on the tablets (phoenix claw, sticky rice with chicken, etc were not available).

The food was very good. Ordering is very easy and unique you use a tablet. The portions a relatively small so you can sample many things off of the menu. The service was great all the staff were very friendly and curtious. The decor and layout is very pleasant. We had a very good evening.

Wife kept bugging me to go because she loves sushi, me, not so much. I ordered a bunch of non sushi items and was pleasantly surprised that this was now one of my favorite dining spots. Everything I had tasted delicious, so much so we went back again 2 days later for more. My wife said the sushi was delicious as well.

I have been to Joy Sushi a few times. Both the food and service are good. They are only open for dinner now because of Covid. We try and go for lunch as the prices are better and dinner doesn't really offer anything more appealing for the price difference. Still it is nice to see them doing what they can because of the pandemic. We will continue to support them

The food was decent and there was lots of selection. Great variety of food. The only thing is that the fish portion wasn't huge on top of the rice and the sashimi slices were not very thick. The service though was top notch!

Food was delivered fast, service was friendly and hot items came steaming hot. It is pricey compared to many other AYCE places. Sushi rolls are well made and pieces are almost too large. It was ok, we don't feel like we would rush back because everything tasted the same as the dish before.

The service was very good, and our server was friendly. However, I noticed that some of plates were chipped, and I had to ask the server to change one of them because it wasn't clean (probably residue from dishwasher!).

The sushi here is good, though prices are a little steep, though understandable with the reduced seating available now. A la carte prices are astronomical however, our usual order for two people when we try to order it for take out is 150 dollars before tax. It's not sustainable to eat for take out.

Craving sushi and was hoping to stay close to home so we tried Joy Sushi Bar for dinner! PLEASANTLY SURPRISED !!! Easily comparable (and actually the winner in my comparison) to several bigger places in the Hamilton and KW areas. Although some have said the price was expensive- in my experience it was on par with other places of equal quality. Highly suggest the Joy Sushi roll - very tasty ! Decore was modern and funky, staff were friendly and engaging. Totally would recommend!

Delicious gluten-free options. When there confusion as to whether or not something was gluten-free, the restaurant called me within 60 seconds to tell me, and help me pick a safe option. Excellent service !

A very attractive restaurant. You could tell a lot of thought and care went into the decor and comfort of the space. Upon arrival, we were instantly seated. We were also served with our delicious, meticulously prepared food quickly. At the end of our wonderful meal, it took a very long time to get the bill. I think about 45 minutes later, I pretended ti start ordering again and a waitress finally came with the bill. Were were all happy but leaving could have been expedited.

My favorite sushi place in town just be aware they are closed on Tuesday but open every other day of the weak, I recommend trying the sushi salmon rolls or crab rolls

This was one of the best sushi restaurants I have been too. Service was top notch and the wait time between order and receiving your food was impeccable. The staff was more than happy to assist us with what they considered to be their favorite dishes which soon became mine as well. I will return to this establishment again and again. Very enjoyable.

Food is excellent. A bit pricey but its all you can eat and there is a large variety of foods. Including foods for people who dont eat sushi

Nice sushi buffet, however every time I've visited, I've had to wait for 5-15 minutes to be seated, when there's obviously multiple tables available and the restaurant is not busy. Staff walk by, and do not acknowledge that I or anyone else is waiting to be seated. I find that incredibly rude. However the quality and freshness of the food allow me to mostly ignore such disregard. I would caution about ordering any specialty iced/cold tea - it takes an abnormally long time to make & be brought to the table (35 minutes the one time someone in my group ordered it... The waitress kept saying it would be here soon... four times!!! The waitress apologized, but didn't offer to remove it from the bill, or offer an explanation as to what took so long, especially since the restaurant was less than half-full). There's plenty of parking, and the kitchen closes roughly a half-hour before the restaurant does. Ordering is done via iPad.

I have had Japanese foods in a few places around the country. I was so happy when Joy Sushi came to Brantford. I have been 5 times in 6 months and 3 of them over the last 3 weeks. The price is not an issue especially compared to other restaurants outside of Brantford. The taste is fantastic but surprisingly some of the preparation is very poor. Chefs in this type of restaurant have been or should have been classically trained, to prepare the rice correctly carve of the fish and especially the presentation.I know with any new business they have to work out the issues but, no self respecting chef would let the food in the posted pictures out of the kitchen let alone serve it to a patron. The appeal is visual, you eat with your eyes first as well as flavorful and aromatic. I have never had warm rice with sashimi but I did tonight. The attached pictures are showing the lack of care or knowledge in this preparation. I will go back again to see if they correctly train the people preparing, as I said the food was good. I will review again.

I come to Joy Sushi fairly often with my mom and we leave happily full every time. The food is incredibly fresh and has great tastes! I recommend the sesame balls with red bean paste, rainbow sushi roll, vegetable fried udon, and everything else on the menu!

Great place to have lunch if you left Toronto at 11 am and you are on your way to the SW. Staff is great, very customer-oriented, and food is served promptly. The all-you-can-eat approach is well managed/tracked with the iPad on the table. Will definitely come back in my future travels to Ontario.

Went for the lunch on a Saturday. Was seated right away and the place was not packed. Sushi is a 4 star quality. Good selection at lunch. They have complementary tea with a meal. I love the food at Joy Sushi Bar (and tonight's order was amazing as usual), but tonight the staff went above and beyond when my keys fell down the drain grate in the parking lot. Two of the staff saw me standing there (I was on the phone with my husband trying to figure out when he would be arriving to help) and came out. The pair lifted the grate, saw my keys, one of the men went back into the restaurant and came back out with a ladder and tongs. When the ladder did not fit in the drainage hole, one of men climbed down into the drain, keeping himself dry the whole time, retrieved my keys and lifted himself back out. It was very kind of them to come out from their busy restaurant to help. I will be forever grateful to them and will continue to support them with all my sushi purchases.

We've lunched there now a few times and definitely like it. I was reluctant to go there the first time as I am not a big fish fan but they have lots of other dishes. Delicious chicken, pork and beef skewers, and even veggies on the side. Mango ice cream and even green tea ice cream are really tasty as desserts. Price is not bad, about $20 for lunch for all you can eat. not bad at all.

My first visit back since COVID-19 hit, so it'd been a while. Aside from a very slight price increase - very understandable in these times - everything was the same. And that's a very good thing. Service was amazing, everyone is very friendly and helpful. Then there's the food. Oh Joy Sushi, how I have missed you. Everything was top notch, served quickly, and the flavors were superb. If you want good sushi in Brantford, this is the only place you'll ever need.

Hubby and I went in 30 minutes to close. Staff let us know the last call for orders was for 9:00pm so we would have to order everything we wanted in 1 order. All our food came very fast, hot dishes were nice & hot, and we weren't rushed to get our food eaten. Plus it was delicious! This restaurant has a really nice layout and the decor isn't too overwhelming. I'll definitely be going back again soon!
